I just bought an ASUS Router (RT-N56U) for my UNIFI connection and after setting it up, it worked well on the first day. Next day, I updated to firmware 3.0.0.4.318 and right now only the 5GHz wireless is working. How can I fix this?

Under the advanced settings > wireless > general, all of the settings are the same for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz except the SSID.

I really need the 2.4GHz signal because 5GHz wont reach my room...

Thanks.

Hi h_f_x, if can try do a factory reset and see the problem still persist or not.

Is it possible that RT-N15U support USB modem?

If not via Factory FW, what Custom FW  is recommended?

I understands that Custom FW might brick the modem, but i am ready to take the risk.

Thanks

How to set it for the first time?
*
Hi Irfan2397, after you switch to repeater, log in the router using Internet browser by typing 192.168.1.1.

Default user name and password is "admin"/"admin".

After log in you will be in repeater mode, you are require to search for the network that you want to repeat and connect to it. Once connected, you are done setting up the repeater.

Hi,

I just purchased the RT-N16 from Viewnet Lowyat and according the sales person there, he told me that this is usable with unifi. However after setting it up at home and keying in all the necessary credentials, i don't seem to be able to connect to unifi. I also went to your download site to get the latest firmware but it doesn't work.

Could you please advise me what to do next?
*
Hi bakuteh, have your select your ISP profiles under the IPTV at LAN section? You an select it also when you setting up the router. When selecting the connection type, at the bottom there got a check box when you tick it, a list of ISP will pop out at right side. Select your ISP and follow the step to finish the setup.

Thank you

Hi bo093, can you pm me your DSL-N12 serial number? I can help check whether your place is near to our distributor or not. If further than Wangsa Maju, then sorry that you need to send back to them to do the warranty claim.

Just out of curiosity - is there a proper way to turn off the router? Currently I just switch off the mains when I want to do some changes to my USB modem.. after I switch back on the router didnt recognize the attached USB HDD (it said its unmounted) and USB modem until I do a complete factory reset..
*
Hi takr, the proper way to unmount an USB device is by ejecting the USB device which is located at the top right of the router interface.

Try see is the problem still happen or not.

Greetings ASUSmy,
I'm using DSL-N12U and its working perfectly.
I was wondering when this modem will receive next firmware with USB-HDD support?
I already ask from official Asus forum and they confirm the firmware will arrive, just they have not sure when.

Any clue for this?
*
Hi MrSpeedy, sorry to inform you that after I double check with our RD, the DSL-N12U unable to support USB HDD.

It only support for USB modem and printer server.

Hi

I bought RT-N12 C1 recently and upgraded to the latest firmware. Everything is working fine except somehow I can't add additional SSID. There is no "ADD" button by the side of SSID. Anyone  has any idea how do I enable multiple SSID for this model?

FYI.. I am using this Router as Access Point. Is this the cause of this issue?
*
Hi gilbert, old GUI will not have this function under AP mode. Below is the link for the beta firmware of new GUI. You can download and update it to get the Guest Network under AP mode.

Please do a factory reset before and after updating the firmware.

Hi,

Getting RT-N66U very soon and before that I need to reconfirm. It is an expensive router smile.gif

I am not too network savvy person. smile.gif So wondering is it easy to setup the RT-N66U for my unifi? And I presumed that the powerline home plug TP-Link PA511 is compatible with it right? Or what other suggestion you have for me?

http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details...del=TL-PA511KIT

Thanks.
*
Hi irangan, yes it is very easy to set up the UNIFI setting. When you are choosing the connection type when setting up the internet connection, at the bottom of the list, there is a checkbox. Tick the checkbox and a list of ISP will pop out at the rigth side, choose your ISP and continue the step to finish the setup.

Thank you.

Hey there ASUSmy...

I've been using RT56U + UnifiBiz 5 for almost 2 years now with no problem. Firmwares update are getting better. My Netflix and Hulu Plus streaming are exceptional. I too just realized that the 5Ghz can go up to 450mbps. Thinking of getting an EA-N66 to maximized connection speed since I am only using XBOX360 for streaming on the 2.4Ghz band.

1) Will EA-N66 or USB-N53 go up to 450mbps?

I've been planning to upgrade and getting RT-AC66U too along with the PCE-AC66 since they support Unifi now right?

2) Where can I buy PCE-AC66 at the moment?

3) Is there any plan for the USB version for PCE-AC66? When?

Thank you.
*
Hi f0ul99,

Below is the answer for your questions.

1. EA-N66 can go up to 450Mbps while USB-N53 up to 300Mbps.

2. Yes, RT-AC66U support Unifi.

3. PCE-AC66 are estimated to be available early March 2013.

4. As for the USB version, USB-AC53 are estimated to be available mid of March 2013.

Both this device you can get it from the IT store that are selling our networking product when they are available.

Thank you

2. Can the router do vlan tagging or everything being manage in the firmware?

Hi frozzbyte,
