Assuming the full game under your main PSN account. After use transfer utility, the data in old PS3 still intact except copy-protected save data will erase from old PS3 and move to new PS3. Keep your main PSN account activate on both PS3, so that the full game still playable in old PS3. If the full game save data is copy-protected, then can't load the save data since it already move to new PS3. So, have to start the game from scratch at old PS3. For new PS3, you still able continue the game from last save.

Online pass bound to PSN account, you still able get back from Playstation Store (find it at "View Download" section).

I not sure the percentage of save data been corrupted during transfer process, I did last time, all my save data are OK. I think the changes are slim since it just copy or move from one HDD to another only, it not alter save data unless you turn off the power during transfer process, it might cause file corrupted.

Online pass is bound to psn. If you cannot go online, need to redownload the pass again. Should be in your download list.

Slim:

the blu-ray slides from the front.

More bulkier

Matte finish

Maximum hdd size is 320gb

Super Slim:

As the title said, a trimmer version of the its slim brother:

The disc tray is mounted on top rather than the front just like the ps1 and ps2

Maximum hdd size is 500gb.

The controllers are the same which is the DS3 (wireless) and has a built in hdmi.

My suggestion is go for the latest one which is the super slim, while many didn't like the top loader because it looks a bit clunky but I think it will be just fine. And of course the large hdd space is a big plus. But if you want to buy the slim version is also alright ( I own one thumbup.gif ). Just make sure u have the warranty in case the console encounters some problems.

Here's a pic of the different versions of the ps3

ive just bought a new ps3 super slim and wanted to do the Data Transfer Utility from my slim to the super slim. then i encountered a problem the error during the process which says "an ethernet cable is not connected or a ps3 is not turned on".

i've followed the instructions to the letter and the problem still persists. anyone had this problem before?

Both PS3 using same firmware (latest firmware)?

Maybe Ethernet cable or PS3's LAN port problem?

Here some methods to test the cable and LAN port:-
1) Do you have another set of Ethernet cable? Test transfer use this cable. If transfer OK, means previous Ethernet cable problem.
2) This method to test LAN port and cable, connect slim PS3 to modem using Ethernet cable. Test the internet connection (make sure change to wired connection if normally use WI-FI for internet connection). If wired internet connection OK, means slim PS3's LAN port and Ethernet cable are OK.
3) Repeat Step 2 for super slim PS3.

If everything are OK, follow transfer instructions stated, do not skip any step.

First question, fifa street downloaded used which PSN account? main account? share account (example: bought from terion)?
If the game downloaded used main account, then the game can't playable once you de-activate your main account from slim PS3.
If the game downloaded used share account, just leave the share account at slim PS3 and activate the share account once complete the transfer process.

For winning eleven, the buyer can't play online unless you keep your main account activate at slim PS3.

Backup utility is useful for restore file to same PS3. If use backup file to another PS3, all copyright-protected file and copy-protected save file can't transfer to new PS3. If want transfer file from one PS3 to another PS3, better use transfer utility, then all contents will transfer from old PS3 to new PS3 including copyright-protected contents.
I don't think you can recover corrupted file using Backup utility or transfer utility.
