The selection of type of pile depends on their function. Similar to type of vehicle, no one will describes you as cheap when you are driving a Ford 4x4 into a jungle instead of a Ferrari.

The selection of pile type depends on a lot of factors. Amongst which are soil conditions, adjacent structure, load type & bearing requirements, & etc. In fact sometimes it is even more economical to use bored piles vs driven piles. Bore piles also got its own problems eg bulging/ necking, or collapse of side wall. Cost wise, not much different between spun & rc piles. We need to understand the detailed engineering requirements before drawing a conclusion. Sounds silly to kill an ant with a machine gun or use a water pistol to knock out an elephant.

If you in this line like me, doing all the costing comparison, then u know wat is means by "silly"

Im just highlighting to buyers here, go check with developer, why adopt this type of piling unlike others? Bored piles is NOT economy compared to driven piles.

This is not 10 storey medium cost apartment for god sake.

in term of engineering, of course there will be option 1, 2 , 3 and even 4 with different costing. Its still depends on developer choosing which one? most economy or most safety factor.
