hi all ,, i am thinking to switching to window 8 lumia 925 .. from htc one .. one of my worries is the whatsapp problem ..as i know the app Whatsapp updated to v2.10.506.0 .. so now the notification is real time or still delay and the apps still crash? thanks in advance
*
I suggest u to stay with your htc one. If not you will regret badly. No multitasking , limited apps, lower audio quality, social media app limited features. Maybe future but now wp8 is not ready

Seeing you mentioned the "testing" on this platform (On other threads) seems to be your motivation behind the #switch, here's my POV:

Your main concern isn't Whatsapp only, you're entering a brand new platform unlike any other so please do expect lots of awesome stuff that you will be experiencing and lots of awful things too. Good luck on your decision! icon_idea.gif

WPCentral.com mentioned the Nokia and Whatsapp team are making weekly updates for the app recently so there're positive comments, hope that helps. thumbup.gif

I'm actually pretty happy with IE thus far. Still waiting for a total overhaul of Music+Videos though. And I dislike how they integrate too much into FB until all your cover photos go to Photos. Embarrassing weih...

Just joined the wp8 bandwagon with a Lumia 520. Want to ask if the marketplace will auto show numbers of app which posted an update? Or must manually go to check each apps?
Wp8 is certainly interesting but unfortunately not ready to displace my feature packed ios and android. Hopefully they will improve fast enough so I can finaly get back with some nokia flagship device love

Cause when i used it that time visiting lowyat forum using the WP8 IE, the alignment like acting weird.

When I pressed Mobile Phones and PDAs at top there from "Lowyat.NET -> Special Interest -> Mobile Phones and PDAs -> Windows Phone", it doesn't actually press that thing, instead it touched others, lol ... have to like pull down a bit then it will touch.

However, only IE have this problem that I faced.
I want firefox or Chrome, lol...

For me I'm using IE 11 most of the time but in those area with only 2G coverage(umobile) I will use UCBrowser, quite nice browser and fast also. biggrin.gif

I think the most annoying thing hor(maybe just me) is I don't know how to lock screen rotation(just IE not entire phone). Say you are lying on the bed but you want to read the article in potrait mode but if you are using IE 11 and lying on the side it will auto rotate to another side. However UC Browser fixed this for me tho ^^

PS: Anyone here know how to set CUSTOM DNS Server? I tried DNS Tools but give me errors =="

Anyone with success can guide me? sad.gif

Same as many users that jumping in from Android, still in the learning process. smile.gif
I tried BB Z10 and Q10 just now their OS more complicated than our WP8 lols all just swipe here and there.

Btw do we have a app that can monitor or kill all background process so we no need keep press back to kill all apps on background cuz I keep seeing the Video tell me not enought memory =="

true 2, so I'd stick to UC Browser for web browsing for now. As it have auto rotate lock and easy to close it no need keep spam back button :/

you can send fb message to your offline friends via the native messaging app. It asks you to 'try text instead' but you can just ignore it and send.

this offline functionality has been around in wp7, it was a background cloud update from Microsoft's side.

Nice, how does it compare to IM+? Or other apps that support similar functionality.

I never really considered using an app for FB Chat because back then push notifications are very unreliable in WP7 (except whatsapp), but WP8 changed the game.
