Just got a Windows Phone and one of the problems that should be fixed is delayed notifications (WA and fb). I also dislike the fact that the volume controls everything, from ringtone loudness to game loudness and so on. It should be separate.

^Hopefully there's an option to remove the hard-coding of the Search button from Bing search to something else like universal search on the phone.
Oh, what are the differences you get if you change your phone's region to USA instead of Msia besides being able to download certain apps like Metrotube?

Using Nokia 720. Is there a built-in voice recorder without external apps?

My phone (Lumia 720) as problems detecting my home Unifi. Has no problems detecting and connecting to my other neighbour's hotspots though.
It occurs every few days and it's frustrating because it doesn't solve itself when i turn my modem off and on over and over again. But it somehow fixes itself overnight.
Is this some kind of settings problem that might have happened to block my phone from connecting? Or is it a hardware problem? My other devices have no problems connecting to the house wifi.

QUOTE(xSean @ Jun 23 2013, 03:39 PM) change your router to channel 11.... Thanks for the reply. Sorry for being so inexperienced with all these, but how do I change the channel? I'm using a standard Unifi modem, white and orange one.

QUOTE(TongCN @ Jul 5 2013, 03:19 PM) So windows phone still have problem on whatsapp? I plan to switch from my S3 to lumia 920/925 and I'm a heavy user on whatsapp and Facebook. Like the camera feature of it WhatsApp and FB on WP8 is horrible. Delayed notifications, lags a lot and crashes. Not unusable, but definitely a bad experience.

Found this link - http://www.k-director.com/blog/10-steps-to...ection-problem/You'll see the steps required to change wifi channel. It's for the Dlink one but steps for the black TM router should be similar I think. Alternatively, you can just buy a cheapo RM90+ TP Link wifi router like I did. All problems solved. OH MY GOD IT WORKS THANKS A BUNCH!

Just curious, did anybody buy the Monster Purity earphones/headphones that comes along with your Lumias? Thinking about getting it, but I don't have much knowledge about earphones besides the iPod earphones I'm currently using. Is it worth the pretty hefty price (about RM250~)?

QUOTE(xcen @ Jul 14 2013, 01:42 AM) WhatsApp is great, but I really, really want a proper Facebook messenger solution. Agreed. However, I do somewhat feel that these updates are giving the placebo effect to us all...

QUOTE(s7ran9er @ Jul 15 2013, 05:57 PM) Hey guys, just saw this news on WPCentral and might want to share with you all why the Nokia's CEO Mr. Elop and his team chosed Windows Phone instead of Android. Android and Nokia fans might wanna take some readings. Here's why: Source: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2013/...s-nokia-androidSpent about 30 mins reading it and the comments and I have to say that it was a bet when Nokia went with WP. had it went for Android, it could leverage its companies image against Samsung and probably dominate the scene. However, it isn't really bleak for them, because it could still be a success story if Microsoft hurry their asses up and fix all the current problems.

Yeah, have to agree that Push on email isn't as pushy. It used to be the only app that updated well.
I don't really get the hype over a notification centre. If Push is done properly, my livetiles should show all that needs to be shown, shouldn't it?

I'm actually pretty happy with IE thus far. Still waiting for a total overhaul of Music+Videos though. And I dislike how they integrate too much into FB until all your cover photos go to Photos. Embarrassing weih...

QUOTE(Pitt @ Jul 25 2013, 10:17 PM) Gonna reset my Lumia this weekend, phone battery draining terribly, charge 100%,only on rowi for 40mins,and i will lose 30% of the battery. im planning to reset, update all, then only restore settings and application required, that would be the best way right? SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME A FEW DAYS BACK! Using Lumia 720. You? Yeah, I hard-resetted it and the problem solved itself. However, not everything gets backed up. Some settings such as ringtone and region settings you have to manually reset again. And some of your contacts will get screwed. The list of apps you have also might be corrupted (that's what happened to me).

Using Facebook Beta now. Does anybody know how to copy a picture link? In Google Chrome, it'll be right-click --> copy image URL. For example, my friend shared a funny picture, so I wanna copy the link to past at my group chat there.

QUOTE(JonSpark @ Aug 5 2013, 05:32 AM) oh bollock wp8 apps lack of so many features To put it more precisely, the lack more customization options =/ If MS wants to keep things simple and user-friendly, they could just tuck all the advanced options under a semi-hidden advanced options option. Like how Google Chrome does it. Keeps both parties satisfied.
