sync contact - all you need is to add your email hotmail(Live ID), Gmail, Yahoo, after login all your contact/email/calender will sync over your phone.

as for backup , text message will be auto backup to your live skydrive . at anytime if you lost your phone or change phone just simply re-login your live ID all you text messages will be restore.

can i select which one to sync & which not to sync? & the frequency of syncing?

yes, from your settings > email + Account > Your Mail > allow you to check Email/Contacts/Calender/Task

Sync time you can choose between every15min, 30min , hourly or manually.

Gonna reset my Lumia this weekend,phone battery draining terribly,charge 100%,only on rowi for 40mins,and i will lose 30% of the battery.

im planning to reset,update all,then only restore settings and application required,that would be the best way right?

Yeah, I hard-resetted it and the problem solved itself. However, not everything gets backed up. Some settings such as ringtone and region settings you have to manually reset again. And some of your contacts will get screwed. The list of apps you have also might be corrupted (that's what happened to me).

It seems whatsapp is back to the no notification self again, at least for me

it crashed for me yesterday, and i feel it's slightly slower than before

Nope,mine is Lumia 920.getting annoyed by it.have to constantly have my powerbank.Crazy,its just Rowi,light twitter client,shouldnt be using the processor and network much,but the phone becomes hot and drain the battery so much,grrrrr

i feel you.but dont regret it.yes,lose some money due to incompetence of Microsoft.but at elast you dare to change and elarn something new.rather than just switch to something that almost everyone use.where's the fun and adventure in that? thats just how i look at it lah.
