Some description abt the place:

"From downtown Kuala Lumpur, travel south to Cheras. After Phoenix Plaza, heading to the direction of Kajang. After paying the toll, you will notice a signboard stated Air Terjun Sg. Gabai on your left hand side. Turn left, then drive along and you will reach a junction with traffic light. You will notice a police station on your right hand side. Turn left and follow the direction of Pekan Batu.18. Go staright and after 20-30 minutes, you will reach Pangsun which is very near the entrance. Ask someone there and they will show you the way to the entrance.

You have to walk around 60 to 90 minutes to the foothill depending on your fitness from the car park. The foothill is called Kem Lolo where you could see Orang Asli there. The watergate/floodgate could be spotted too. Then, it's all the way up until you reach a place called Dataran Pacat where campers stay. The trail becomes tougher after this.

The view from the peak is not so great compare to other mountains but the satisfaction is great. It is possible to trek up and down within 10 hours from the car park if you are fit and the path condition is dry."

From: http://www.peakware.com/peaks.html?pk=2091

Will post some updates abt the place from time to time

I have never been to nuang, but from the info posted by other climbers, dun think got rock climbing, more like jungle trekking.

i am ok to start the climb at 7am, so we will meet early let say 6am? anyway, let see who else is going then we'll decide a meeting point and time by friday

abt stamina, i think not to worry 2 much as we will trek slowly, shud have enuv time to cover the route if we start the climb at 7am

Since its been raining lately, be ready to bring some anti-leech agent like detol or rubbing alcohol. Just a drop and and leeches rolls over! And if you're really afraid of leeches dont camp or stay so long at Kem Pakat, they dont call it Leech Camp for nothin.

Its really advisable to wear long pants in Nuang as trail has may shrubs and bushes that may scar your flawless legs. But still, leeches can get through pants and even socks! So girls, wear cycling pants or thights under your trekking pants :-D Just do some leech check once in while and you'll be fine.

I just advise additional pants/undies are for girls/woman :-)

Funny but, some folks doesnt get bitten by leeches at all when they go in the mountains, I wonder why....

it's depend on u...if u love nature biggrin.gif ...no problem wit the leech...short can long pant also can...to me...to wear short,u can easily see the leech and sraight away u can throw it away before it'll be chubby. drool.gif if u use long pant u w'll know tat u h'v been suck when the blood flowing throw ur body or leg... brows.gif if u have leech sock this w'll be better but not 100% secure...important thing u must know how de track goes...to much bushes u have to wear long pant...or ur leg w'll be covered with scratches.to much river crossing better use short or ur celah kangkang w'll melecet.. laugh.gif if u r beginner better wear trackking shoes..rather than sandal..now a days they have trekking sandal for trekker..to me hmm.gif i bring both...some times u w'll need both...at a camp...

Added on June 25, 2008, 8:39 pmforgot to tell u ...if u r allergic to nature better bring along insect rappellent...also bring ur hanger
