There is 2 problem for me to keep the collection. The player is no more selling and no where you can repair. For example the LDs. So what you going to do with the disc collection? For kids toy? tongue.gif  2nd problem is the wife complain. You spend so much collection and you abandon it. Than collect another format. When year end cleaning, nagging coming when she saw your collection collecting dust. sweat.gif  And it is not just my wife. My mother now start nagging too now. Ask me what I should do with my late father LP album. Man, why women don't understand. rclxub.gif

hmmm... that's very true. but i can only find solution to your 2nd problem: wife complaining & nagging huh? easy... just abandon her, look for another one! laugh.gif

i just thinking how to save more cost without getting the bundle together outdated DVD format. Which is for me is a dust collector. biggrin.gif  I still don't have kid. So can"t imagine your situation. hmm.gif

It will happen to you 1 days when you tired with keep chasnging format. The next format 4k is coming. They is no end.

Hi bro ozak, nice meeting an old friend here (we last met in the LYN photography/video forum). So I see you have finally joined the BD family. Ya, I can understand your problems since I have also gone through the videotape ->LD->VCD->DVD->BD evolution. (I never owned any LD since it was too expensive so I just rented from the many LD rental shops during those day when LD was the rage.) A few years back, I threw out my hugh collection of mouldy VHS tapes and about to do the same with my dusty collection of VCD. I'll keep my DVDs though since they're not too bad with the upscaling on the BD player.
There is a solution to your second problem, albeit an expensive one. Just get you wife started on her shoe and handbag collection (if she has not already started) and nag about HER collection when she nags about yours! She'll surely stop nagging. brows.gif
A few pointers on ordering from Amazon based on my limited experience.
When comparing prices between Amazon UK and US, remember that the UK price is with 20% VAT so to get the selling price, divide the published price by 1.2 before using the conversion rate. Many UK boxset are cheaper than equivalent US boxset (especially the BBC documentaries) though packing may differ.
Those DVDs that come with the BDs may be region locked so not playable on most local BD players (unless it is a Sony BD player which surprisingly can play DVDs of all regions.) so pretty useless here.
BDs from Amazon Canada are usually more expensive than US but their shipping and handling is cheaper. Better still, they use DHL even for standard shipping so will arive within 3 days normally against 2 weeks to 4 weeks by Amazon US depending on the shipper used. Amazon UK items will usually arrive within 7 days by Royal Mail. (God Bless the Queen). Regular buyers from Amazon CA may want to confirm the part on using DHL since I only ordered twice from them and both came by DHL for standard shipping.
Enough said, just enjoy your BDs and your new hobby! thumbup.gif

Wah my friend. You also kaki BD. Your Sanyo cam still there? I seldom go photo/video forum cause sell off all my videocam. The dvcam and canon hd cam no more. I m using camera for video and camera. Easy to carry for holiday. 2in1.

I m not hardcore collector anymore. Just start BD. Collect quality movie only. Since I got the free player. LD is expensive that time. But if compare now, it is about the same as BD. RM value down. All my old player still here. Sony LD player, sharp VHS player etc. But longtime no fire up. Don't no function or not. sad.gif

Wife already is kaki handbag and shoe collector lor. But she collect the cheap 1. Leave me difficult to arque with her. sad.gif Sometime did trap her for a A/V player. brows.gif

Thanks for your shipping advise. I will try to get some from amazon and see what I can save. smile.gif

I believe some scenes are shot in imax

Similiar to The Dark Knight, some scenes switches between imax shots and normal widescreen shots
