So far very lucky. Never get tax. To be exact, my parcel did kena tax but Amazon US never collect tax in advance from me. Shipper had help me to paid the tax (without let me know in advance, and I only know when I received that parcel and paid attention to the invoice attached in parcel) but Amazon never charge me for the tax.

Very strange, in the invoice, shipper is not Amazon and invoice include clause said "Shipper pays all charges". Since shipper is not Amazon, I wonder how their going to collect those tax their paid in advance for me...

This only happened when Amazon asked UPS to handle my parcel . If my parcel is handle by DHL, I never kena any taxes before.

But when you place the order, it already state there that your order item and estimated tax to be collected. Than total amount. When you click place order, it will charge to your CC direct.

If no tax pay, it shouldn't mention tax to be collected. But just item and shipping cost.

I believe that is because I ask Customer Service of Amazon help me to combined orders. I think this is reason why system didn't estimate the tax for my order since if I didn't combined orders, each individual order is under taxable range and since combined order is done by Customer Service manually so system didn't can detect.

Or there is other reason that I am not sure. Since only very one or two cases happened for my orders.

That mean not always kena the tax? Don't understand base on what will kena the tax.

Here example of my ordering for total of 8title. Which amazon will tax me for US$17.92

Which state did u ship to? Some states in the US have sales tax.... That is why Amazon tax u.

Shipping to Malaysia using standard shipping does not incur tax, if customs hold, u r responsible to clear whatever taxes are applicable. Sometimes, using Priority shipping, they pre-charge u tax and refund if there is no subsequent taxation applied by Malaysian customs.

If shipping destination is Malaysia, there is no tax.

Items total below rm500..duti/cukai dikecualikan.



If still kena, probably handling/processing fees for ur pos agent.

My last case, is US$260+ inclusive of shipping charges. I am not sure about Amazon internal system. If you order just like usual, sure you will kena tax. But if you ask Amazon CS to combine order for you, I am not sure Amazon internal system can re-estimate the tax for the combined parcel or not since it is done manually by Amazon CS.

But, if you want to combine order, there is some rules that you need to follow, Amazon will not combine the order for you if you again the rules.

My case is using Priority shipping.

I guess the tax is for the US domestic sale tax. Or what you call GST in asia side. I m shipping it to NY. Export should be no tax.

I understand the over RM500 custom tax here. Been experience before. So far what you guys order that over RM500 for BD, got kena tax from custom here?

But my experience with UPS(AmazonGlobalshipping) lately was bad handling , cause the slipcover damage and crack in the bd's case.

Oh..sorry to hear that. sometimes i blame it on amz lousy packaging, the items not well protected and able to move around inside the package.

It depend on luck. I have received several time with parcel total cost more than RM500 but still managed to escape and not need to pay any tax. Most of the time those parcel is handle by DHL. Only recently, Amazon like to send my parcel using UPS. I notice UPS often get check by Customs. I know this because if me parcel slight big enough, usually me parcel will attached certain documents about custom clearance, outside the parcel.

This only happened if parcels handle by UPS. But I never experience this situation if parcel handle by DHL. Strange...

Some forumers here already report here that their kena tax even their parcel total cost is less than RM500.

So, Luck is biggest factor in this process.

Last time, I decide not to buy it. Only recently, for some unknown reason, I saw the price is cheap enough, I click order.
