I think I found the problem why my car will always have strong outside smell when I pass processing factory or idling behind a lorry, eventhough I set my aircond to air recirculation mode.

The vent, which located above the air intake of front passenger seat, is not closed properly. Tried to push with my finger, one of the flap seems loose to me.
Moreover, my cabin air filter, is cleaner on the inside intake compared to outside intake, which shouldnt be the case as I never switch on the outside air intake.

Will ask SC to check during next service, but seems need to open dahsboard if need to change the part. They might ask to leave the car for the whole day doh.gif

I shared the same opinion before, but being in other more expensive car, no such smell in the same situation. Therefore, I still suspected something is wrong. Dont have any other Gaga available to check whether the flaps should be in that setting or not.

Yes, the ventilation cover won't 100% close, but if you sit in our car, you will know how bad it was.
The switch for indoor/outdoor ventilation seem to be not working, either is close or open, still the outside smell superb strong. ohmy.gif

i can pretty sure this is faulty rather than safety measures. Too much air leak from outside, and it leak through the vent @ the left front windscreen. I personally tested few times, when the lorry in front is like hutan bakar, i switch off the aircon and i never smell the polluted air at all.

Yup, especially those bus and lorry with the exhaust pipe @ the left hand side, if we stop behind them during traffic jam, the smell is just unacceptable.

I might consider to seal it permanently.

That was me, and I take that back.

My experience with Saga and Vios was the same, outside smell easily comes in, so I figured it was normal. Well after driving the Fofi, I can tell you that is not normal.

You can opt to seal the vents permanently, just be careful when driving for extended periods of time, remember to open your windows occasionally to let some fresh air in.

Truth be told, though, when driving the Saga I didn't find the outside smell to be too terrible by my measure, even when stopped behind a garbage truck, there is only a hint of stench, nothing overwhelming hmm.gif

about the smell entering the car, I don't have the problem for both persona and saga. however smell do enter from nowhere. maybe thru small gap like the door gap which is not airtight.

btw, wanna ask about undercarriage, not sure I spell correctly.
but when do I need to tighten it, or rather should ask what is the symptom of it loosen/need to be tighten?

Yes. FLX Manual got ECU update. Call your SC before visiting to make sure they have the machine to update ECU. Some small SC not equipped.

Added on December 24, 2012, 9:22 pmBtw, ECU update is FOC

Just an useful info for those saga flx drivers in Melaka.

Went to the Peringgit Edar branch for reflashing yesterday evening.

There is indeed an update for the ecu for all FLXs. They are aware of the idling issue and it took 10 mins for reflashing.

What the techician used: a laptop and a cable; service was FOC, drove my car off after that. smile.gif
