Serious please  cry.gif

Really no need meh?

But my back tint looks buruk.
They shop said they can replace the new one for me for free..
Kalau u guys her said no need demister then i ask them to have new tinted for me
*
I replaced my rear tinted last week, after 3 years and alot of bubbles @ demister line. After tint, no demister damage at all, becos at the same night i already tested for few minutes.

My advise is, if new car dun replace it, if start to bulge, wait until alot of bubbles, that time i can confirm the glue is very weak already, so no risk of demister damage.

His demister already gone case. The question was whether to replace the rear windscreen entirely for a new one with a working demister.
*
My understanding is, original is the best.

Yes, send back to Proton to change windscreen is better, they will use original bonding material for that. But how about workmanship? At factory, i mean those car factory @ Tanjung Malim, they might use machine for those work, accuracy, protection all under quality plan. At Proton authorise SC, even COSE, i dun think they got such equipment for those work.

Same case like my car kena buttseck last time, i actually got 2 options. Option 1 is pull back the whole panel to ori shape and touch up, but will not 100% perfect, another is cut away the panel and welding the new one on that, seems better right? But no, the welding is no longer same as factory one even repair @ Proton authorize workshop, becos ori is using spot welding, new one they only can use edge welding, reliability is not guarantee, anti rust gone, and can check easily whether the car is involve in accident by scanning.

My opinion, if he really want demister, just change the rear windscreen, and the car is not 'virgin' anymore, no doubt about that. Just depends 'virginity' is important for him or not.

eh i thought some bros here ald told that it's not 100% closed circulation due to some safety purposes?
like letting a little air in to avoid u getting drowsy during long distance drive??
bukan kah? ph34r.gif
*
i can pretty sure this is faulty rather than safety measures. Too much air leak from outside, and it leak through the vent @ the left front windscreen. I personally tested few times, when the lorry in front is like hutan bakar, i switch off the aircon and i never smell the polluted air at all.

Yes, the ventilation cover won't 100% close, but if you sit in our car, you will know how bad it was.
The switch for indoor/outdoor ventilation seem to be not working, either is close or open, still the outside smell superb strong.  ohmy.gif
*
Yup, especially those bus and lorry with the exhaust pipe @ the left hand side, if we stop behind them during traffic jam, the smell is just unacceptable.

I might consider to seal it permanently.

No, my FC is getting worst for city run now, especially now using 5W50, this thicker oil does affect the FC, not much, around 5-10%, approximate -10km/bar, but acceleration really affect alot, damn heavy to rev.

Next service i will go to clean my throttle body and reflash ECU, found a shop that can do about RM120. Now idle during cold start is up down up down, and sei fo twice during cornering as i mentioned before, the shop said the throttle body is very dirty and might affect the air flow meter since 80k never clean at once.

i thinking to give a try on 0w40, any advise for this?  smile.gif

do you mean cold start, the rpm up down crazily?

must update us once you done cleaning and reflash  thumbup.gif
*
I use 5W30 all the time since my car is 17k mileage, until now almost 80k only change to 5W50 due to cheap price @ Tesco, so i just give it a try, mana tau the effect is huge for me, since i adi getting use with thinner oil for so long time.

0W40 is OK, 50 is too thick adi.

Yup, the RPM go up and down, not much, 1000-1300-1000 and stay like that for around half a minutes, can know it by hearing. But not often.

gud mornin

done fix rear door. thanks to YES Car Service SC  thumbup.gif
hmm.gif do EO effect FC?
1st service use helix, when rpm goes beyound 2krpm, it roar roughly. engine sound noticeable. but since using symthium, engine more quiter. when goes beyond 2krpm, engine no roaring loud

Added on December 28, 2012, 10:13 am

agreed. rpm 2.2k enough to move car faster

The EO itself won't affect FC, but the driving style.

Thicker EO will make engine response more sluggish, so unavoidable driver will press throttle a little bit deeper, thats why FC increase.

The effect is more apparent during city drive, highway drive FC remain same as before.
Anyway, as i mentioned, just around 5-10% different, not too much for that.

just DIY seal the aircon intake vent by sponge. Imagine it act as external air filter.

Dunlop glue?  tongue.gif

No, no glue involve. Just alot of sponge and squezee in the hole, it will hold firmly. You need 5-6 pieces of car wash sponge to seal it, the hole is big.

if i`m not mistaken that hole let go the engine heat... if stuck with sponge then wouldn`t it be very hot for the engine ? or lets say its a aircon intake vent... wont it be harder to suck air in ?
*
that hole is nothing to do with engine heat release. It purely act as aircon intake vent whenw e choose air circulation from outside. about the problem is the design let alot of dirty air aka smell from outside even we choose internal circulation. I have no choice but seal it with sponge, if not effective, i will just seal with insufflex next time.
