using EM to redeem flight from OneWorld alliance member worth?

Is there a place to check the rate? Feel it tiring if need to check different flight to different destination from a phone call.

If you're using Maybank, can just keep the TP and transfer to other Enrich number direct brows.gif

And yeah, it's only really worth redeeming for long haul flights, especially business/first class biggrin.gif

One good point is C/F class seats are readily available on MAS, unlike krisflyer always fully booked !

Absolutely correct. A handful of routes are mostly empty on C/F but in general KF is never ending waitlist.

The best so far is CX but Maybank TP doesn't transfer to Avios or Asia Miles. Only Citibank does.

Try this link There's a Oneworld entry somewhere on the first link.

In short however it's not worth it. Far too expensive IMO compared to the likes of AAdvantage, plus you need to pay airport tax + fuel surcharges on some airlines.

Part of the many reasons why MAS has been losing billions of dollars and counting... biggrin.gif

HSBC does Asia Miles too. And there's always American Express Membership Rewards... (people who have the charge cards give little shits about weekend 5% cashbacks laugh.gif)
Earn/burn ratio on AM/Cathay is horrid (except for Economy). 125% on J, and no tier benefits? Kedekut la.

None of the Asian FFPs are that great with mileage (compared to AAdvantage or the old MileagePlus), but you live with what you get.

That's not contributing factor for their loss...that one "taik gigi" only
major factor is their contracts with vendors/suppliers/subcontractors. .. but I'm not going to elaborate more...

I've never done Asia Miles, only Avios and that's painful as well although 125k miles to redeem CX F was awesome!

If you actually fly a lot then it's possible to book your MH/SQ flights on AAdvantage or MileagePlus but there's no convenient way to spend on Malaysian cards for example and easily get more AA/UA miles that way. I'm lucky enough to have options so I'm still sitting on huge amounts of miles but I guess with devaluations going on I'll eventually switch to revenue flights as well sad.gif

It is one of the many contributing factors, not just the catering contract with Brahim, bonuses paid to the people in the top management etc.

MAS was never good in yield management. The most absurd thing is that on most occasion, award seat is still made available even on a near sold out cabin. From customer POV, that's a wonderful thing. However, from the company perspective, that's a stupid thing. Besides that, MAS is still selling most of their tickets below their operating expenses. The CEO thinks by increasing the aircraft utilization rate it will help the airline. Well, it will help to a certain extent but to sell your tickets below cost ? And to introduce red-eye flights around Southeast Asia ? rclxub.gif Anyway, we're kinda going off topic now.

Avios is very good when it comes to redeem a partner award ticket. For instance on Cathay Pacific/Dragonair, the Avios needed to redeem an award seat on CX/KA flight is less compared to using Asia Miles. The fees we need to pay is significantly less too for award seat redemption through Avios.

sadly with the easiest way to earn pts here in Malaysia you only have the option of MAS and SIA.

still ok I think...1 EM = 5.4 sen
I bought a tiket from KUL to BKI for RM210 (economy-MH smart)
from the website business promo cost RM890 , normal - RM1100
to upgrade will cost 15000 EM.. but if we can do it online it should be 15% less i.e. 12750 EM

Maybank no longer credit Enrich Miles into other's Enrich account?
I used to credit them from my mother's CC to my Enrich acc, coz I'm only a supplementary card holder.... Don't know if my case will be an exception.

else wasted for those I accrued, I'm waiting to redeem Europe flight
