they only discounted the smart and flex fares....not the lowest tier....which is still cheaper than the smart fare after 30% discount...
and there is essentially no difference, as you cannot claim miles on redemption tickets....
this is not the first time they take their customers for fools...
the only worthwhile campaign was the 50% discount to oz....

if you fly local, then you get gold by having 50 elite sectors...so that's 25 business class flights (2 elite sectors each for J)....people travelling business return once a month will already get 48 elite sectors...
