actually has anyone solve this 3G issue already? it's getting me really frustrated. I cannot connect to it every time, and i gotta reboot my phone.

went over to maxis, they said for iPhone 5 u gotta reboot ur phone everyday. SO i bought a phone over 2k and i gotta restart everyday? it's ridiculous :S

after the change of new iphone5 from maxis, my hp is working perfectly...
whereever i go sure got 3G finally....

except some parts in mont kiara...the kiaraville is one...suddenly 3G gone...but appears back once i left that area...
*
i am not sure about ur case but everyone reporting here having issue is using maxis and i dont really think that maxis are selling faulty iphone 5 since day 1...i am a maxis user and having this issue as well on my iphone 5 and i not yet change my sim card from maxis center...but i manage to avoid restarting my phone but not completely by setting my carrier to manual instead of auto...select manually for my maxis carrier and once u encounter this issue, aeroplane mode should be helpful but not 100% as usual but at least avoid restarting phone 80% of the time. If this fail then restarting your phone would be the best choice...

Got my phone on Dec last year, it was IOS 6.01 then, the next day already got this problem already, so I just reset the phone to get back the cellular data connectivity.
this Feb updated to IOS 6.1, the problem persisted....
last week updated to 6.1.2, so far already encountered twice the no cellular data issue....

Do you think it's software problem?

so u mean by switching to 'manual ' instead of 'Auto' on the carrier selection, the occurrences of no connectivity issue will be reduced?

im using a maxis iphone 5 set with celcom sim card....

when i first get it, it was totally rosak...whenever i on my 3g, instantly my CELCOM becomes "No service"...and no internet service...

but once i set the 3G OFF, i am forced to use Edge, and everything was ok...
i hv tried EVERYTHING...n even made a post here asking for help...all useless for me...proven dy faulty phone. (and it was sealed when i got it)

now after 1 to 1 exchange phone with maxis...my new phone works perfectly, everywhere i go sure gt 3G, except some parts near shah alam area n some parts in mont kiara...but i think thats becoz of celcom coverage only...

no, what i means is that if you switch to manual instead of auto, it will be easier for you to use aeroplane mode to get back connectivity rather then restarting your phone always. Before this, when i was using auto mode i cant get back connectivity by switching on/off aeroplane mode instead need to restart the phone. After switch to manual, aeroplane mode on/off makes it easier to get back connectivity but it does not resolve the connection issue...is still occur but is easier to get it back with manual mode only

Seriously guys have you tried to remove the casing and leave the phone naked and see how the connection goes?

last week i have disconnection problem when tethering. i had to connect and reconnect the cable everytime.

In the house with wifi also most of the time the phone cannot switch to wifi quickly like before when i reached home from work. Sometime it doesnt automatically connect to my home wifi at all.

Then one day i removed that stupid bumper casing and left phone naked. Now i dont have DC or wifi problem anymore.

i have the same issue, i tried to go Setting, Carrier setting, turn off automatic and choose the telco i using, it going normal.. if it can't fix permanently, then i think that is the way to reset the reception instead of turning phone on off or airplane mode.

Just got my set changed, from a new phone, changed to a SEED model. When i asked whats a SEED model, Maxis stuff said its 98% new, 2% recon. wtf.

Anyways, using the phone out of the box as of 7PM till now, (11.35PM) everything is well, 3G fukin fast, gets connected very fukin well. Doing an update to 6.1.2 before restoring my data and contacts.

Wanted to just use the phone as new, but contacts damn problem. Gotta update if not wont know who's calling.

After update, if 3G problem persists, then can confirm that its really software.

My problem was going on for 3 years with Celcom. First the blame the phone then the sim and now they say they are investigating. It is area specific. I believe at certain spot the 3G and Edge network is unstable or just a blind spot.

I am talking about a place that in the golden triangle. I have no issues near my home area. If they cant even get 3G right then what's the point having LTE. Is MCMC ever conduct a quality check or wait for complaints to drop in their inbox.

One another note, read this response from Celcom:-

QUOTE

Terima kasih.

I told him my 3G problem, can't receive calls and I just added some stuff that I don't have a clear connection and stuff. The Maxis Staff actually understands and he never really complained cz he also understands that its a persisting iPhone 5 problem.

I updated to 6.1.2 from the 6.0.2 SEED set that i just got.
It's the software i can confirm because prior to updating as i mentioned above, I can get good signals, and able to detect 3G immediately. After updating, shit comes back. fuk.

The best way now is to switch from auto mode to manual mode when finding ur telco. Do note that this doesnt enhance 3G connection it only increases the possibility to detect 3G after turning on and off the airplane mode.

Lastly, I reconfirmed with the maxis guy again and he said to me that the problems current network problems iPhone 5 users are facing now is also partly maxis's fault as they are consistently having problems with iPhone 5's network. Other telcos work as well. he summed up to me:

50% maxis problem, 50% iOS update.
