Frankly, I'm having a problem of iPhone 5 can hardly connect to Celcom 3G.

I had ever requested a new nano SIM from Celcom. Same problem.
My friend's is using DiGi namo Sim on his iPhone 5. No problem
I borrowed my friend's DiGi nano SIM and test on my iPhone 5. No problem
I inserted my Celcom nano SIM into my friend's iPhone 5. Same problem.

Thus, I'm sure there is nothing wrong with iPhone 5. It's Celcom 3G issue with iPhone 5.

I had finally found the solution to Celcom 3G problem on iPhone 5.
The problem is actually the Celcom nano SIM.

I had ever inserted Celcom nano SIM into my iPhone 4S, then my iPhone 4S turned into difficult to switch to 3G.

To end all these problem, just get your nano SIM replaced with either mini SIM or Micro SIM from Celcom. Then trim the replacement SIM into nano SIM size. Insert it into you iPhone 5. Restart your iPhone 5. Here's all the 3G signal problem gone.

Proven on my iPhone 5 with Celcom 3G.

Yes, don't think it is a SIM issue as mine was working prior to upgrading to 6.1
Check out the apple discussion forum, it's a firmware issue.

I realize it takes a longer time to switch from EGDE to 3G in iOS6.1.

I am a Maxis user @ 6.1 @ iPhone 5. I'm having same annoying issue. Tried swapping nano sim as suggested by @MaxisListens, but issue remains.

So far, best possible solution is to Reset Network settings. I was so pissed that i was contemplating to port to Celcom. But after seeing this thread, i'm having doubts. Sigh..

At the apple forummer ,some of them already being suggested by thier telco provider not to upgrade to 6.1 first.. There is a bug in 6.1 which affect the connection of 3G.. They already highlight this to Apple.. Lets see what Apple goin to do about it..

Guys, having same problem here. Sibeh dulan. My nano sim card is cut from Micro-sim (iPhone 4/4S). Usually on my old iPhone 4, i on the 3G, immediately effective, the 3G icon will appear immediately.

Now on this iPhone 5, I cut from micro-sim, detect 3G damn slow. i dont know whether its the phone or not. ugh. its always GPRS !

Is it cz of the sim ? I'm on Maxis.

Using iOS 6.1 ? If so, blame the latest firmware. I'm using CELCOM Postpaid plan and I'm experiencing sudden loss of 3G signal while on my Bold (Celcom) , it's getting full 3G speed.

From that article, it is mentioned that the 3G bug is affecting the 4S.
"European Carriers Warn iPhone 4S Users Against iOS 6.1, Requests Not To Upgrade"

Ironically, it is not the 4S which is the main concern here but rather the IP5. My wife's 4S is working fine since the day I got it upgraded to 6.1
The 3G signal couldn't be more stronger.
On the other hand, The 3G on my IP5 keeps playing peekaboo with me since I upgrade it to 6.1

Apple needs to address this bug for the Iphone 5 asap. Period.

Guys,

If your 4S is bugging you, update to 6.1.1 now.

iPhone 5 will have to wait.

Sad that Apple only addressed the 3G issue on 4S and nothing for 5 yet.. How often does Apple release software updates for a specific iPhone model? Usually they encompass the whole family of iPhones.

The issue also exists on 5, so I'm surprised Apple only released this for the 4S.
