You can use Google DNS for browsing. For ping, anything also can.

Looks like my message was wrongly interpreted. Just to make sure we're in the same topic: Choosing which IP address to ping to maintain your connection or to check your connection is still alive.

Yes, I'm using Google DNS to resolve all my URLs. But I won't choose Google DNS as the IP address to be pinged all the time. nod.gif

who said E398 no good ?

i currently have e372 , mf680 and e398 should reach me in time for boxing day

stay tuned brows.gif

currently, i can say , based on what i have tested at the same location and time, no usb extension cable, no antenna , no router just plain usb modem direct plug in.

e372 = 6Mbps
mf680 = 7Mbps
e355 = 4Mbps
e5331= 4.5Mbps ~ i hang it up the celling in a "fish net bag"
e367 = 4Mbps
e1762 = 3Mbps
e220= 2Mbps
mf600= 1.5Mbps
mf691= 3.5Mbps
umg1831= 3.5Mbps
e398 = coming soon

Actually E398 is good if you don't have E372 or MF680 before this. With Maxis' current infrastructure, you really expect a big jump? That's not going to happen. E398 is not a God and will turn your slow speed to high speed. smile.gif

Anyway, it probably can shine only when the real day comes.

Somebody might not like my honest post and keep defending it is a good modem. smile.gif

No, i dun believe it have anything related to hatred.

I also believe your assessment is unbiased too.

Just that its Location dependent. remember you used to clock 15Mbps , so wat is 12Mbps on a E398 ?

Mine is different as my current speed is abt 7Mbps. Anything > 10Mbps iI am super happy that my money works for me.

yes, i just wan 10mbps, anything more i will be super happy

btw, this is YES on a Silent Night

anyone from ipoh, bercham? i got an e398 here.. speed test show 9-10mbps, but i download drivers from nvidia get only 3-4mbps, ps3 psn download also same speed, feels like capped, any advice?

Better use download manager like IDM/flashget/orbit/thunder to download files because browsers don't support concurrent connection and not be able to resume if D/C

No about defending or etc. Just speaking the truth

The key is still with Maxis nod.gif

If remove E398 from the equation, E372 VS MF680, some say E372 is faster some say MF680 is faster. Yes, they tested both.

Anything wireless is subjected to changes with an infinite amount of factor.

Some device antenna design may favour you some may not nod.gif

It depends on your pocket, if you can afford to get the best, just go for the best device available nod.gif

I do know some people is very happy even with a E367 they enjoying their internet.

It's Christmas eve guys so cheers biggrin.gif
