hey there !
as i saw a lot of people seeking for reasonable replies on their enquries, i would like to ask some too..

i`d finished my foundation in UCSI, and is ready to start my first year first sem at UCSI...
so my question is, is it still late to apply for that loan ?
lectures will be starting in next week...
because i saw some forumers state that it needs about 1 or 2 weeks working days to complete the loan...

you need to pay from ur own pocket first....

haha... hi frozen7...
i guess no one is here from ptptn ...
so we cant guarantee you when will you get the money after submitting the form...
now, bear it in mind, submitting the form doesnt assure you to get the loan ...
there are more things to do after submitting the forms...

but one thing i know for sure is that, if you are applying the ptptn now, it will counts for your next sem, which is normally May-August semester...
but for the current sem, you need to pay ur own..

Not generally true.
It takes them from at least 1-2 weeks to months depending on their working efficiency rate before the money bank in to you(if approved and agreed by you to accept it). Money will be distribute to your college/uni account and your account (please check and count the amount each time they bank in) which was done 2 to 3 times annually to the account. You might get it on the same semester itself but might be quite late.

I'm new in this topic. I have a question and hope someone can help me out.
Let's say I'm going to have my degree course next year right after my foundation this year 2008 and would like to apply loan for degree fees,
when should I start filling the form and apply for the loan from ptptn?

I heard many people said that they are slow in approval. I'm not sure about it. So, I have to confirm when to apply before my degree courses begin.
Thanks.

wait for the next application form acception date... Since the slip is not out yet, you can't apply. It requires your results and proof of the results. (the SPM slip, photostated and clarified by your principal, or any government officers)

And yes, when you in foundation also can apply... If your result already come out then lar.

I'm in UTAR. My GPA was below 2.00 during my first semester. During my second semester, my GPA went up more than 2. Now I'm in my third semester. The PTPTN officer only came during my second semester. Will they look at my first semester's GPA to determine whether I'll receive my next loan? According to UTAR, PTPTN only look at the 2 long semester which is my first and third semester. If I don't get any loan for this semester, can I do 'rayuan' to get back this semester's loan? Those people who have experiences in such situation, please do let me know ASAP! Thank you!

1st sem alone 10k? Good luck to you in getting the loan max=16k/annum unless your course fall under medicine/pharmacy/optometry/nursing/allied health course

1st Q, Yes, need your foundation result/transcript and offer letter for your degree year.

2nd Q, you will need SPM result as well

3rd Q, fork out or borrow from relatives or postponed the payment(you can discuss it with the Finance department of your institution. Usually you are required to pay once you got your money, or pay 50% first, remainder when you got your $$ and so on.Different institution different style.Ask your senior)

Answer is no.

You can't get one lump sum. They process the payouts in batches.

for example,

the WHOLE COURSE for a programme is RM16k, and you apply for the loan. They will see if you are qualified for the loan and decide what amount you should get. If you fail at the requirements, then you're off.
Then IF they set your loan to be RM15k, then it would be not more than that. And this money you cannot collect the whole figure, they will 'pay' you the money in batches.
Like in one year alone, they only release RM5k for business students. And that RM5k is made in two payments, one at the first sem (first half of the year) with the sum of RM2500 and the second half will be given at the second sem (second half of the year)

Even if you got the loan, it's a pain to wait for the money to arrive to you. Like some of us borrowers are still waiting for the payout where it was suppose to be released in 2007. Now we are still waiting...

If you apply for this loan, you need to fork out your own money first in order to pay and wait for them to release the fund to you... Which is really a troublesome matter.

Some Financial Support...
