ThalesRaytheonSystems Completes Command and Control System for Malaysian MoD

FULLERTON, Calif. – ThalesRaytheonSystems today announced full system acceptance has been finalized with the Royal Malaysian Air Force for the Malaysian Air Defense Ground Environment Sector Operations Center III (MADGE) Program. ThalesRaytheonSystems provided the Malaysian Ministry of Defence an enhanced national command and control system.

“The C2 system we’ve executed in Malaysia represents technological integration at its best,” said Kim Kerry, CEO of U.S. Operations for ThalesRaytheonSystems. “We worked with our Malaysian customers to integrate their legacy system and have augmented it with proven technologies, such as the Sentry® command and control system and the Ground Master 400 (GM 400) radar. The result is a system that reliably and effectively meets their requirements.”

The MADGE system operates in real-time and features multi-radar tracking and a flexible human-machine interface. The GM 400 radar will provide additional long-range surveillance capabilities for the Royal Malaysian Air Force.

China intends to buy Russia's Sukhoi Su-35

ABU DHABI (UAE). Feb 20 (Interfax) - China has signed an intergovernmental agreement with Russia to purchase Sukhoi Su-35 multirole fighters.

"Consistent with our understanding with China, we actually signed an intergovernmental agreement this January to supply Su-35 jets to China," Federal Military-Technical Cooperation Service Deputy Director Vyacheslav Dzirkaln told Interfax-AVBN at the IDEX 2013 arms show in Abu Dhabi. He heads the Russian delegation to the show.

Consultations will start shortly to draft the Su-35 contract, he said. "This is only natural; we keep to the plan," Dzirkaln added.

He did not say when the contract might be signed and how many Su-35 jets would be delivered to China. Yet he said there would be no license and China would acquire finished products.

Asked whether there was a chance to reanimate the Su-27 licensed assembly contract suspended by China, Dzirkaln said the contract was signed in the 1990s. "More than 20 years have passed and the jet has changed, probably, the Chinese partners are no longer interested in the Su-27 jet the way it was described in the contract. I do not think the contract will be restored," Dzirkaln said.

China is the biggest foreign user of Su-27/30 aircraft. A total of 281 jets of the kind were supplied to China in different years. Besides, China started production of J-11B fighters - actual clones of Su-27.

for everything we bought, they buy something else to counter it..and they counter it with more modern and deadly assets..PT-91M with Apache and leopard, Mig-29 and Sukhoi Vs F-16 and F-15SG, etc..this is not something new actually..besides, of all the subs in this region, we have the most stealthy and modern subs..although we only have two..

was wondering... can a civilian legally buy and drive a de-militarized, de-armed such armored vehicle in malaysia?  would be a nice option in cases of flash flood i think, especially if it got the amphibious capability...
