was wondering... can a civilian legally buy and drive a de-militarized, de-armed such armored vehicle in malaysia?

kinda wonder... if there any official documentation or official statement or press release from mindef that indicates the acquisition of the submarines are meant to strengthen our claim over spratly issue/dispute? how about official statements on the rmn's activity regarding the territorial dispute over the ambalat block?
having a hard time googling sources in bm for my energy securitization (hydrocarbon-rich territories in this case) academic writing and somehow didnt find any in english either. so any help in guiding me to the right direction is very much appreciated |

QUOTE(noavatar @ Apr 13 2013, 05:26 PM) I would suggest you also research on China's newest city - on a tiny island in the very middle of the disputed South China Sea - Sansha City on Yongxing Island. The designation of Sansha as a new city means a new province that administer about 2-million-square-km islands, coastal areas and territorial seas in the South China Sea. the southern most is the James Shoal near our coast. ![]() QUOTE(noavatar @ Apr 13 2013, 05:32 PM) There's a pdf file u can download ...entitled ...Geology and hydrocarbon potential of the South China Sea : possibilities and examples of joint research and development thanks, especially for reminding me about Shansa. only got a single sentence mentioning about it in my writings, but not much details. hope to get more through the link you provided http://scholarspace.manoa.hawaii.edu/handle/10125/23272 hope it's useful just that the general idea has it that our acquisition of submarines are related to territorial dispute in spratly's but cant find official statement/press release on that one. and whether if our military is considering of new assets acquisitions for ambalat dispute or the patrols in the area is rather routine with occasional skirmishes. official statments are hard to come by, somehow... when talking about energy security, things are always directed to america, china and the 1970's oil crisis... |

QUOTE(noavatar @ Apr 13 2013, 05:51 PM) I can understand ur difficulties... submarine deployment...strictly OPSEC...M'sia is about mum on SCSea...only Phil n Vietnam response...obviously we do not want to upset PRC one way or nother yea. not really looking for the details of the mission or their deployment. just the proof or evidence that the acquisition is related. else, supervisors will yell at me asking for citation and references whether sub acquisition is related...i m sure it does well, maybe will think of some grammatical and word arrangement to circumvent the citation requirement. suggesting the relation between the two, but not quite claiming it to be a hard fact (due to absence of evidence) |
