QUOTE(plumberly @ Mar 12 2014, 03:37 PM) Agree with your comments. Just want to add to item (5) that this professional managements charge an annual fee even when the fund is loosing money! That is the main reason why I am staying away from UT. Yes, they need to make a living BUT not when their performance is questionable. My 3 cents. Then u shld take charge and U select the funds that u want...based on ur own research.. myself..a 7 year investor and recently as i posted elsewhere here...i been using this tool - that shows me the top performing funds from UT in malaysia and its a good tool- except u need to key in some information -IF u want to monitor ur own funds... Yes, my agent still with me and i m happy but some areas i want to see OTHER funds as well..which are not so known,...... but their performances are good infact better some well known companies..

Good on you on your successful 7 years UT investment! I have more than 10 years investing history and among the different $ making vehicles, I just dislike UT though I did make some money there. All the best with your investing journey. Cheerio.

QUOTE(laith @ Apr 12 2014, 03:50 PM) Dear taikos, i may need your advice as below. I've 50k in hand, i would like to do some investment, but just for a year, since those cash are needed to do repayment for my personal loan (as earlier settlement will get penalty) after 12 months. Can i know what type of investments that suit my requirement? Thanks in advanced. Hai there, first of all, 1. whats your expectation return? 2. In whats field that you prefer invest to? etc: retail business, share investment, forex, property... Anyway,I do know a investment which could providing 8-10% annual return without any lock period. For your case, i think its better since you have a deadline of investment duration (as you measure early just for 12 months).

QUOTE(laith @ Apr 14 2014, 12:03 AM) Hey bro, 1. Better rate than annual EPF dividend (6% perhaps). 2. Those mentioned investments are mostly longer than 12 months, and i've no interest on forex. Can i know what type of that investment that you are recommending here bro? The investment that i measure was Forex unfortunately. For myself i'm investing for quite sometime and the return is quite good. May i know why you doesn't like Forex? is it because of the risk?

U sure U ain't over emphasizing only on the "good" year and not the so-so YEARS ar? and i'm assuming (sorry if i'm mistaken ya) a. that service charges weren't factored into the calculations (ie. based on NAV to NAV). b. it's a simple calculation, not CAGR basis This post has been edited by wongmunkeong: Apr 14 2014, 04:35 PM

I read all of the beginner stuff from Fundsupermart. I got 30k cash for investing right now. I want a relatively safe investing scheme, so from what I read, should I buy 30k worth of unit trust from fixed income group? What does the percentage means from the table? http://www.fundsupermart.com.my/main/resea...tormaincode=All

The percentage means the return for the investment. The info is as at 25 April 2014. For example, 1 year return means the return for the period of 26 April 2013 to 25 April 2014.
