Hello, first time to build my own PC.

Budget around 2.5k+ (include monitor)

Slightly gaming that can support DotA 2 and other 3D game.

Any suggestion?
*
try
Intel Core i3 3220 RM349
MSI B75MA P45 RM229
Kingston Value RAM 1x8GB RM114
WD Blue 500GB RM169
Sapphire HD7870 RM799
FSP Hexa 500W RM149
Xigmatek Asgard Pro RM150
Lite-On 22x DVD Drive RM59
LG IPS224T RM419
Total: RM2437

Dota 2 is not a very graphical intensive game but since you wanted to play other 3D games, i assume those games like Hitman Absolution, FC3, MOHW etc etc, therefore i suggested the HD7870 which will give you decent frames on med-high settings

Is it i3 ok for gaming?
And how much is the i5 price now?

Besides that, the casing you suggest can use those zapbulang brand? xD
*
i3 is fine for gaming, but will suffer if high CPU requirement games comes in, such as Far Cry 3, Elder Scrolls Skyrim

i5 3470 RM564, i5 3570 RM614

as for chapalang brand casing, sure why not? as long as its ATX design

but dont expect good quality for it though, heard stuff like faulty button, too plasticky etc etc

Will this rig run good enough in gaming on 1366x768 resolution? Budget RM1200.

Pentium G645 - RM172
MSI H61M-P31 motherboard - RM155
Kingston 4GB DDR3-1333 x1 - RM61
Sapphire HD7750 1GB DDR5 - RM318
WD Blue 500GB hard disk - RM169
Liteon DVD writer - RM60
Gigabyte PowerRock EX 500W - RM140
Cooler Master Elite 342 - RM98

Total - RM1173
*
the GPU is powerful enough at that resolution

but might need to tone down on the eye candies like AA and etc

I see, I found that Sapphire HD6850 price is RM338, by adding RM20 is it ok to grab it even it's an old series?
*
heres a comparison chart
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/539?vs=535

the HD6850 is more powerful but since its an old gen GPU, itll consume more power than the 7000 series

I see, hmm what if I put aside the power consumption, then obviously the HD6850 be the better choice plus it helps if I want to upgrade the monitor to higher resolution right? hmm ok thanks. Btw will this gpu bottleneck with the cpu (G45)?
*
yes itll be the better choice if you were to venture to high reso gaming

also, yes itll bottleneck. though by how much im not sure hmm.gif

Ill take it youre an overclocker with the K series and Z77 board

A good 600-650W should do the trick. Try checking out the Corsair AX series. Modular too brows.gif

Or else can head for our Garage Sales sellers. Look for brands like Seasonic and Rosewill.

Both brands mentioned above should be within your budget if i could recall the last time ive checked the price list

Can anybody give me links to the latest pricing that you guys are referring to? I wanna do some homework on the pricing
*
Just google for malaysia's hardware pricing

Or head to jayacom, viewnet or all IT website for their respective pricelist

Or check out the Garage Sales sellers like lingloong, CyntrixTech, zhen^wei etc for their pricing too

Well, I would but since I don't know if the pricing is updated or not. Cable707 just replied very fast as if he has the brochure on his computer or something. That's why I wanted to know where he got his price from
*
usually we got our prices from the viewnet, jayacom, all it pricelist

anything else is based on Garage Sales seller's pricelist

mostly are very up to date as hardware prices changes often

From the brochures? Is it the one on lowyat home page? If it's updated, then I would get it. Heard before that it wasn't updated or anything.

no point changing the chassis in order to get a few degree Celsius drop in temp. for example, you spend RM300 just to drop 5C, that's RM60 per degree... what for?

btw, your 7950OC temp is quite normal, wait you see my friend's GTX480 - 94C

For PSU, any reason you wan't to change?

FSP Hexa 500W RM149
CM K280 RM128
