QUOTE(Cable707 @ Jan 26 2013, 08:24 AM) I dun think so.It is recommended to have some space on power instead of cukup-cukup makan only.. true, since youll never know what youll do in the future. but his rig have been bought.. he bought a FSP Hexa 500W with HD7870 D: and reviews stated need at least 550W.. demmit, i better hope nothing unfortunate occurs

QUOTE(cypanz @ Jan 27 2013, 09:53 PM) Hello everyone. I am pretty much new in this forum. Please don't bite Anyhow, I've got a budget of 2k and based on the recommendations of the contributors around here, I came up with this: Core i5 3470 Sapphire HD 7850 Non-OC Msi b75MA-P45 FSP Hexa 500W Corsair 4gb PC1600 WD Caviar Blue 500GB Silverstone PS08 casing Lite-on 22x DVD-RW TP Link TL722ND Wifi Adapter Would this setup be good enough for med-high setting for RPG/FPS games such as dishonoured, torchlight2, rage, borderlands etc. If possible, I would like to cut off on some of the hardwares as long as there is no noticeable drop on performance. I would also appreciate if you guys could recommend a cheap >24" Full HD monitor as well. Cheers! unfortunately, 24" monitors will be too pricey for you atm, they cost like >RM700 depending on brand as for the setup, its good. but it would be better if you swap the card to a HD7870 instead. better performance than the HD7850. but you might need to downgrade the CPU to an i3 to fit into your budget just recently ive set a friend's rig who have similar budget as you. you can check the previous page for what ive recommended for him cheers

QUOTE(cypanz @ Jan 27 2013, 10:42 PM) So I assume that the i3 would be sufficient for full hd gaming? And based on the conversation that you had regarding the PSU, do I need to change the FSP Hexa 500W to say Xigmatex VC Series 600W? gaming relies on GPU more than CPU, so the i3+HD7870 are powerful enough for full HD gaming as for the PSU, its better you get at least 550W for the HD7870 (recommended) the Xigmatek VC series im not sure, not much reviews about its quality you can try Enermax NAXN 550W RM215 from IdealTech though, great stuff ill say

QUOTE(TitaniumZ @ Jan 29 2013, 10:26 PM) I've been out of DIY market for a while, now have to catch up a bit... For some quick reference here, I'm going to build sort of a media pc. The usage would be mostly HD movies/music, internet, FB, video calling/conferencing, no gaming though so I presume a dedicated graphic card won't be necessary. The budget would be below RM1500 without monitor because I'll get a cheap LED TV for it. So I need recommendation on (Intel or AMB based would be fine): 1. Processor 2. Motherboard 3. 4GB RAM 4. 500GB/1TB hard drive 5. DVD drive 6. PSU 7. Wireless keyboard+mouse 8. Webcam 9. WiFi adapter 10. Bluetooth adapter 11. Casing And I'll need this to be future proof. By this I mean down three years whenever a part goes kabut I can easily get replacement from the market i.e. no obsolete partSadly to say, you cant future proof a PC. The next generation processors codenamed 'Haswell' are coming out soon (prolly June) with a new platform socket. So, when it is released, the current LGA1155 will be obsolete And as the years pass by, the replacement parts will be hard to procure

QUOTE(aaronsuarez95 @ Jan 29 2013, 10:49 PM) but my friend says it have 5 years warranty When you buy a PSU, you prefer it to work well continuous mah.. Not work well 1 year, die.. Then RMA then rinse and repeat Besides, PSU wattage decreases under prolonged usage.. Sooner or later youll need to change PSU too xD

QUOTE(JohnDiew0107 @ Feb 13 2013, 04:28 PM) I thought multi-monitor would be cheaper if calculate like this 1x U2711HM around RM1800, single large desktop 3x U2312HM around RM1800, more desktop asset well, if based on your calculations, yea but you havent take into account the cost of the GPU required to run smoothly at that reso even the 27" 1440p is more than capable to cause probs for GTX680 as for the 5000+x1080p for 3 monitors, same thing. so better take at least one 1080p where a card can fully show its true colour than struggle

QUOTE(JohnDiew0107 @ Feb 13 2013, 04:50 PM) I see, for gaming, that really costs a lot on the GPU.. but if for work setup, we just need a cheap eyefinity card like 6450, 6570 already good enough is it? Should be, my friend and his 5750 working great on his 2 U2312HM atm Though everytime he games.. One monitor, low reso, low settings

QUOTE(JohnDiew0107 @ Feb 13 2013, 05:10 PM) understandable, I'm running 2 monitors using i5's HD2500 and I'm really happy with the increase of work efficiency. Though I don't game a lot.. i do agree extra monitors are useful though more stuff to be displayed on screen

QUOTE(shiki_arc @ Feb 15 2013, 12:51 AM) Just to reconfirm, is that GC enough? I expected something more powerful? Umm, something with more "bit"? Assuming normal GC is 128/256/etc. Just wondering =) Thanks Well, GTX660 is still one of the mid-high end Nvidia cards The bus width will limit only if lets say 'Gaming at >1080p and keep adding in alot of eye candies like FXAA, AA, etc' Other than that. Its quite a solid GPU The main use of work related purposes right? EDIT: nvm, swap the GTX660 with a Leadtek GTX670 at RM1099. A more solid performer This post has been edited by marfccy: Feb 15 2013, 01:11 AM
