QUOTE(Seager @ Nov 23 2012, 01:35 PM) not as easy as analog. analog orang xsekolah pn boleh buat for aircond, its unwise to switch in on and off all the time. mone energy is needed to remove the heat from a place compared to energy needed to mantain the temperature. also, your aircond will consume more energy during hot days because the difference in temperature ( between the temp that you want and the ambiance temp) will be greater. for fridge, it is unefficient if your fridge is mostly empty. also, try to minimize the amount u spend opening the fridge because heat will get into the fridge, energy is needed to remove it. remember, more energy is needed to remove heat compared to energy needed to maintain the temperature. also, remember to cool down your food items before putting it into the fridge. |

350W is rated maximum usage
I bought kill-a-watt from a LYN seller (costs RM 90) , so I decided to plug in on my main PC (as seen in spec) and my macbook pro Main PC (650W PSU) Plugged in n turned off (Wake On Lan Turned On) = 2W Plugged in n turned off (wake on lan turned off/ERP) = 0.1W , nearly 0W Windows is booting up = 250W Idle in Desktop = 195W-220W Playing Games/Rendering/Serious CPU usage = 300-380W Standby = 4W Laptop (85W adapter) Plugged In and PC is sleep/turned off = 0.0W (Fully Charged) Plugged in and PC is sleep/trned off = 25W (Charging) Idle in Desktop = 30W (fully charged) Idle in Desktop = 50-68W (charging) There you go , those are some rough estimates. Will try to measure my LCD TV later to know about its power consumption as well. If you are really paranoid about how many Watts is your device is using and stuff , get kill-a-watt , pretty nifty device |

TNB people come and check meter, say everything is fine. Dafuq? Something is wrong somewhere. if u r using new digital meter the price is like that one my house set up is = to you plus 4 computer that run avg 8 h per daymy house bill is around 450+- the only thing u can do to cut down e bill is replace the old less efficient electric appllicant like a/c and fridge to new with better energy saving btw 0.21 is only for first 200kwh 0ver 200kwh the price will go higher and higher |

QUOTE(deejay_krish @ Nov 23 2012, 12:30 PM) Hey guys, just wanna find out some info in here. I called tnb earlier in regards to plasma tv electricity as its stated behind the tv 350w. They said 350w is equal to 3.5kwh (kilowatt-hour). So according to their calculation, 3.5kwh per minute the cost is $0.76cents and thats what it says in tnb website calculator also. So the tv consumes 76cents per minute? kecik2 tanak jadi electrical engineer....dah besar bukak thread bodoh di /k |

My electrical bill only RM 40-50 per month with about 500L fidge(Inverter), 1 hp Air corn (Inverter) using only 6 hour daily with setting tempeture 25 celcius, all saving energy light, washing machine and other. Normal use after office hour and some time weekend go to my mother house. 4 people in the house. Digital TNB meter. so electricity usage always depend on our attitude when using electricity.
