Hi, just finish drive for almost a month after 20K service.

Complain my IMA battery indicator drop from full bar to zero and then back to full for 1 min drive(Occur once a while) and lastly go up Genting (almost near genting) IMA battery show half but acceleration can only go for 10Km/h even I change to lower gear L. Pedal bang to the floor but still speed around 10Km/h++. I have to release and bang again the pedal to push a bit of speed. Luckily the distance was short or else get honk by cars behind then down hill to recharge my battery and everything back to normal.
SC put a remark to ask mechanic to check IMA battery. After getting my car they say the IMA battery connection is loose. So I test drive for a while to see if it happen again. So far no drop for the IMA battery indicator.  rclxms.gif  The up hill thing so far no problem but is not like Genting hill slope so is hard to say.

Another thing I found is normally when I fill up full tank I can get up to 350 - 380 KM (Empty Fuel tank light up) but after this service I can get 400 - 430 KM (City 85% highway 15%).  biggrin.gif
Damage from 20k service (Chan Sow Lin SC):-

Labour                      = RM117.0
Oil (Semi)                = RM99.80 (15% discount)
Washer Drain            = RM 2.10
Oil Filter                    = RM26.08 (15% discount)
Dust and Pollen Filter = RM153.00 (15% discount)
(Air cond service postpone to next services cause very expensive)  biggrin.gif

Total                        = RM405.00 (including service tax 6%)

Hi I am an Insight driver for almost 2 years now and I just joined this Forum.
I have this same issue of the IMA Battery discharging very fast when going uphill (even slight hill) the discharge is to almost to the end.
And then the recharge is also quite quick but not as quick as the discharge so I used to get 5L/100km but now only 6L/100km.
I asked SC during my 30K service and he said he checked and nothing was wrong mad.gif
Perhaps I will ask SC to do the 12V battery test then?

I have civic hybrid 2010 IMA battery replaced FOC by honda. If you have symptom of rapid discharge and rapid charge, it is sign if imminent battery failure. The IMA indicator will appear soon.

If you complaint to HSC they will tell you is normal. You must call honda malaysia. honda malaysia will then instruct the HSC to call you and bring the car for further checking. HSC will then download your car data and send to Honda malaysia for analysis. All the abnormality like rapid discharge will appear as error code in the data. When Honda Malaysia satisfy that it is indeed a problem, they will instruct HSC to have your battery replaCed foc. Better get it fixed before warranty expired.

It is very annoying to suddenly lose IMA assist.

No. In fact the when i sent for inspection. The ima light is not lit yet. While waiting for the results if analysis which is about a. Month from inspection date till they call me for appointment to have it replaced, the ima light lit.

So weather it lit or not does not influence the decision to have it replaced.

Thanks for the tip CY97.
I will wait a while more so that HSC won't say it is an intermittent problem. I still have another 3 years for the IMA warranty.

You mean cleaning the engine compartment under the bonnet? It's not easy to wash it ourselves & might cause problems so I suggest you let Honda do it for you in the service centre. I had it done before for my family's 2.5 Gen CRV, it looked like new after they washed it :]

yeah, the engine compartment. There's a car wash service near my place that offers such cleaning services. Previously went there with my old car and seemed to be fine. I'm just curious if Insight's sophisticated built my be affected if given them to wash

Damn bad luck to have such defect, I do not make any modification and everything is original. Good is that yours still got air-cond, worst is my problem no air-cond some more nowadays hot sun and raining (condensation in windows,windscreen-have to stop the car cannot see at all), suffering even though consider new car.

BTW, do you complaint your issue to Honda Japan HQ?

Visit SC many times and also my car left there already coming 1 week and previously took another week.
