meaning... insight 1.5l canbring brought into the country if there's demand for it... hehe btw just went for 40k srv and $$ fly around 800++ ... i wonder if hjh and hi share the same engine.. why hjh need not change it fuel strainer ? and do hjh also need 8 spark plugs? QUOTE(dc_hunter @ Jan 22 2014, 02:05 PM) a little bit of update for my warranty claim for the rear shock absorber... from my understanding .. usually if shock absorber failed... only need to change the one that failed.. but most srv ctr will ask u to change both(if u paid for it.. especially if u do it at tire shop) Finally Honda Malaysia has approve my warranty claim even the mileage has slightly over 100k km. But then, instead for a pair of rear shock absorber, they only change 1 piece... WTF!!! When they quote me rear absorber, they quote in a pair. Now for warranty claim, only can claim 1 piece totally bullshit ... either way.. it is single pack.. does not come in a pair... |

QUOTE(dc_hunter @ Jan 22 2014, 05:02 PM) source from http://www.car-techie.com/absorber.php?001 from my experience.. not much different.. but that is butt testing and wallet testing.. Change absorbers in pairs Question : THE rear driver's side shock absorber on my 1982 Volvo 244 GL is leaking and I have been advised to fit a replacement. My mechanic insists on changing the shock absorber on the other side even though it is still in good shape. Do I really need to replace both at the same time? Answer : YOUR mechanic is correct and you will have to spend money on two new shock absorbers. It is extremely dangerous fitting a single shock absorber since uneven damping on two sides will result in unpredictable handling, especially on wet and slippery surfaces. Although the shock absorber on the other side may look undamaged, it would have worn to a certain degree. This may be unnoticed to you since the reduction in damping occurs slowly and over a long time. it is good to have new in pair.. like replace ur shoe only 1 side instead of pair.. the sole of the new shoe and old shoe will be different rite? hehehe |

QUOTE(STC @ Feb 4 2014, 05:02 PM) You can claim insurance but lose your NCB. Calculate and see whether worth it. BTW, 40kM service over RM1000?????? Why??? I just saw it on the website. the most expensive thing in 40k service is the fuel strainer and its bracket.. not sure why it's there... but it's there.... |

100k km is the last battle for Honda before the warranty expire and people will rush to service their car outside..
if they say u can change the plugs at 150k km... they loose on the gain that people still service their car in honda. |

QUOTE(dudan @ Mar 6 2014, 04:40 PM) 1 is enough for now.. will be using earth dream technology, the hybrid configuration will follow atkinson cycle like the prius.. so it will have better FC than prius. but toyota already said they give better FC than jazz hybrid. btw saw news that new 2014 jazz hybrid can get way more better FC, using their new tech earth dream if not mistaken. even compared to T hybrid. btw, much much more interesting is accord hybrid plug in. 70+km/l .. hehehe.. not sure if that reach our shore and how much it will cost with the discontinuation of tax incentive. |

QUOTE(Newgen @ Mar 25 2014, 04:53 PM) Thanks for the info. fuel filter or fuel strainer? But that info kind of contradicts... Because i have read a full maintenance DETAILED report of a Honda Malaysia recommendation parts list, and the Fuel Filter to be changed every 80,000KM instead of 40,000KM. Anyhow, What I think is that, the incident could happen to any car at all. It's not just to Hybrid or to a Japanese made or to a Specific Brand. is that the same thing? |

QUOTE(ongdennis @ Apr 21 2014, 02:13 PM) yups..i try it and it work well got the same issue but i think because we push the battery to flat.. so when reach the top the battery sure on empty so the engine will rev about 1.2k rpm.. after the battery got to 1 level. the engine goes back to normal.. complaint about it several time. but they only reset it or something and that does not help... but after doing that and using econ mode on, around 3-4 weeks it back to same problem again. so now most of the time i drive with econ mode turn off now...next week will go service and ask them to check this. will update here if got solution what i do.. if the hill is quite a distance.. i just step on the accelerator above 2k rpm so that the battery will also assist/charge intermittently. sometime i just don't bother and keep on maintaining eco drive.. |

QUOTE(STC @ Apr 23 2014, 09:43 AM) Wow...why you change CVT before 40k km? The required change for replace transmission fluid is :- Normal conditions: 90,000 mi / 144,000 km / 6 years OR Severe conditions: 30,000 mi / 48,000 km / 2 years. Actually, Insight is equipped with the computer sensor for CVT change but not sure if this option is disabled for Malaysia Insight which is identical model exported to Australia and US. schedule service for CTVF is every 40k come from Honda Malaysia. If u did not do it, they might revoked your warranty. If it a recommendation by your SC, like fuel injection cleaning every 35k. that you can reject as it does not come from Honda Malaysia. Your SC might reject your warranty claim but your claim still valid with Honda Malaysia. Anyway, I used to change and service my Proton gear box according to schedule until till failed after about 100K Km. Later, I found it wasn't even gear box problem but contact problem with the computer box. Now only change oil when I see significant changes in the colour. No problem since then. My friend never changed his Audi's transmission for almost ten years. When the gear was acting up they change the oil and it is back to normal. Don't let SC rip you off. Be a strong consumer and fight it out for unreasonable charges. NOTE: Maintenance Schedule Charts There are two maintenance schedules, one for normal conditions and one for severe conditions. Use the "Severe Conditions" schedule if one or more of the following apply: You mainly drive less than 5 miles (8 km) per trip or, in freezing temperatures, driving less than 10 miles (16 km) per trip. You mainly drive in extremely hot [over 90ºF (32ºC] conditions. You mainly drive with extensive idling or long periods of stop-and-go driving. You mainly drive with a roof rack, or in mountainous conditions. You mainly drive on muddy, dusty, or de-iced roads. If you only occasionally drive under a "severe" condition, you should follow the "Normal Conditions" maintenance schedule.[SIZE=7] your semi synthetic oil change should last 10k km.. but honda still ask u to change every 5k and for the new service cycle of 10k km, they ask u to use fully syntetic that should last 15k km... that's just how they make money.. what to do.. wait until warranty ran out at 100k.. i ald eyeing a service workshop near my house who claimed can do hybrid as he do mostly honda car.... |
