Strange, I thot it suppose show the remaining life of the oil quality. Or maybe, I am mixing up with engine oil warning.

CVTF warning for Malaysian Insight is there... there's some people having that reminder after 40k in this forum. you might want to take a stroll down memory lane to check it out..

hi insighters.

this morning my waifu called and said there's a crack about 3cm on my windshield. previously, i had a different small star-crack about 3mm diameter and got it fixed by dr. cermin. but this 3cm in length worries me. is it still possible to get it repaired by them?

if the only option given is to change the windshield, how much is the cost for 3rd party unit? and can i somehow have the autowiper sensor on a 3rd party windshield?

and the one that i scared most to ask... how much is the original unit cost?

p/s: i didnt insure my windshield sad.gif
*
last time i ask.. the ori windscreen is about 4k... 3cm crack.. i think still can be safe by dr cermin...

but in term of spare part imo not a big issue coz most of its part shared with previous jazz hybrid.
*
standard manufacturer practice after phasing out a certain model to keep 10 years worth of spare parts for car that already on the road...

things to be concern is more on the body parts as engine part is source-able easily..

Ya my car is also 2011 with only about 55K mileage and the price I got was also 40K. The used car agent said there is low demand for our Insight  cry.gif
*
i guess the correct term is NO demand.. not LOW demand.. rclxms.gif

experience with honda crv 1st Gen, engine oil gone. when rev the engine high.. will get engine oil smell in the cabin.. can't remember what been done.. but to my memory something very cheap and simple..that problem gone.

experience with proton savvy ... engine oil gone.. SC tighten the nut where the flush down the engine oil too tight causing that thingy(can't remember what it called) bengkok.. to know this happen because everytime car park long time.. got oil stain on my driveway... bring back to SC.. replace that thingy(less than RM10) ..

I am very keen to know what the SC replace until 2k which is half the cost.....
since not fix the issue. maybe can write to Honda Malaysia to complaint..

a friend of mine complaint on his fiesta.. end up he got a new one for free... (the power of complaint... u just need to know how to complaint)

I'm keen to get a 2nd hand H. Insight.. the price is pretty attractive. less than 50k for 2012/13. are the maintenance costly?
*
maintenance is quite ok if you do it at outside SC or u stretch your maintenance period to 10k km using the fully synthetic..

CVTF changed every 40k - or when reminder come up
fuel strainer changed every 40k
spark plug changed every 100k...

u can use K&N air filter.. no need to changed. just wash.. RM300 inclusive of recharger
dust filter in the aircond is RM50 for carbon activated.. (can search here in forum)

others.. not much maintenance.. no maintenance for the hybrid stuff... hmm.gif

Thanks to share your experience.
If service outside of SC, does the battery warranty still in cover?
*
nope..

when u buy second hand.. u have to check with honda if the warranty still have... or check on the services booklet..

Hi jimmy, we are on the same skeptical boat here. I'm currently considering 2 options. 2011/12 Insight or 2010/11 City. Both price around the same which is below 50k.

Currently still doing research on the hybrid IMA. I read the batteries can be done DIY method. so far I read about insight vs prius is insight is a fuel car assisted by electric; prius the other way round. So if the battery is dead, insight still can be driven around but not the prius.

Do correct me if I'm wrong.
*
prius battery much more expensive than insight and yes, insight no battery can move, like a normal car with 1.3l engine , prius cannot move without battery but not much reported case of insight with bad battery.

insight maintenance is quite expensive if done in SC esp 40k, 80k and 100k due to fuel strainer replacement every 40k and plug replacement every 100k. some of members here already service outside.. quite ok if you can find those capable and have the necessary parts. whistling.gif

prius is bigger in sense and if you could save more fuel if you know how to drive it well, insight, u just drive it. either way u drive it, you still save than normal car.
prius C is a no-no, very cramp for me. although insight is not much bigger, at least bigger boot. icon_rolleyes.gif

prius second is a bit more expensive than insight.

if compare insight and city, not much different except 1 CBU 1 CKD. tongue.gif

19km/l is very high... im also very light footed stop and go but only 12-14 km/l

estimated says 620km though

your mileage per tank (when it reaches E) is how much?

is there something wrong with the car? sad.gif

currently im on petronas 95 also, trying to achieve simliar numbers
*
Me full tank can go around 600 before fuel light on. Don believe the range as I usually got 800 to 900 but never got that

using insight since 2011.. few month back the problem started.. during heavy traffic like siput the aircond starts to blow hot air.. not normal air like before.. even worse during heavy rain & traffic jam.. last month went to glenmarie SC and they told me to change the solenoid coil and compressor clutch.. all in total is RM1,435.. just asking other insight owners opinion.. should i go to SC and replace or just replace at outside aircond shop?

thank you in advance
*
try getting second opinion first.. find reliable aircond repair shop and get their opinion first. sometimes they could just recondition the air condition...

do not tell the workshop you going to what the SC told you and see what their opinion first..

but first, u need to find a reliable aircond workshop first...

yeap...heard bout this as well..
did ask my personal mechanics, he said that full synthetic is ok for 1st & 2nd year new car. remaining years is good to proceed with semi.
*
check back with your mechanics, once u used fully, u can't go semi.. campur campur viscosity could cause gasket burn leading to oil leak.

car above 100k, should be better using fully syn... since older car means efficiency degradation, unless u rajin do torque overhaul after 100k which is not necessary.

This fellow so damn SKL  doh.gif

Who said you can't use semi once you've used fully?
*
i learnt it from the Automotive Engineering Head in JPJ(the person who sign-off on car testing before can be brought into Malaysia) so I am sharing it here. and you can have your own opinion.

no need to bang me just because i'm against your idea. icon_question.gif

we are here to share. not become a warrior.

there's forum-mer here in LYN who does not agrees with this concept too, but he DIY port and polish the piston head, so I have no doubt on his opinion as he gave me quite a good explanation on why he did not agree with my sharing.

for u. i close eye.
