with 11k discount u comment early, i think it would be a best deal for honda insight.
been using it almost 1 year plus and with price hike last time, i still think my purchase is still the right one.

only part that i not satisfy is the high maintenance cost.

in term of the part availability, so far i had change my side mirror and also currently the front passenger windows. all come within a week, so still ok. but the price is all 4 digits...

hi machine.

i would say buy it.

altho the resale value now is not demand in malaysia.but i believe in the next 3-5 year car market would change something new.

afterall..this car are something new for me.The Dash Design is futuristic,One downside is that this is a tech savvy car, and too much button and information may be too much for some people... No problems for me.. me like it very much

in the end. the most important is this car is fully import from japan and it has tax wavied until 2013.

indeed the maintenance cost is at the high side compared to other hybrids...maintaining an insight is even more expensive than a 2.4 accord sweat.gif
the recent offer was indeed very attractive...compared to early this year or a year ago, there is almost no discount at all

driving experience is alright so far...except for the whistling sound when cruising above 80kmh on the highway
i rmb someone has posted a customized solution to block the wind coming from the front bonnet which was the cause of the whistling sound
until now, I am still too lazy to get the material and fix this issue yawn.gif

yea...it was very much higher...that's just the preventive maintenance...
As for spare parts, since this car is CBU made, all parts are directly imported from Japan which explains the reason it cost 4 digits for a side mirror replacement
In fact, I bought it when it first launch in 2011 and I was cheated by the sales agent
that time the preventive maintenance cost price is not published yet and the sales agent told me the price would be similar to maintain a city/vios vmad.gif

anyway, since there is a huge discount given now, it evens up everything...i believe it would be a good buy with this discount

if u go to the honda page n see the maintenance cost, u will know that the total maintenance cost for 100k km is the highest among others model in honda.
so is definitely expensive than honda accord 2.4

but the price listed online i believe should be the retail price, most of the time the SC will give discount on part and u also will get discount coupon from time to time when there is promotion.
for latest i saw one is spend RM500 in single resit will get RM20 and spend over RM1000 will get RM50 discount until next year end of feb.

also if u know well ur car, some part u can buy it outside and install urself.

Added on December 6, 2012, 11:10 amhmnn...it seems like the squealing sound was caused by rubber flap at the top of the windshield as it vibrates when the car cruises above 8-kmh

i did a simple comparison an hour back and the result is:
after 18 months or 30,000 km - total of RM400++ more compared to Prius C
and after 36 months or 60,000 km - total of about RM1000++ more compared to Prius C

yeah, and this is the primary factor which delay my decision.
i even compare insight with jazz hybrid, which i believe should share the same mechanism and tech.
but the difference is quite shocking.

i wonder. the warranty for the car and battery is separate, right?
if i somehow service the car outside, say, at 40k, will HM still cover the warranty for the battery?
