the hinges have screws inside to allow you allign 100%. i have installed many before (just installed 6 besta sets in my laundry room for storage myself). getting it right is tricky but its not hard. i have them 99,9% totally aligned. you just have to get used to the screw settings and understand how they work. look at the manual and try yourself. or post a picture and i help you with what screw to start with. its easy once you get the hang of it.

If I do it myself...then what for I pay for installation? hmm.gif

Ok since it's already sengit I will take ur advise. So do I take the doors (whole thing) out and try to re-install it myself?

I have few Ikea cabinet, and one wardrobe (brough early 2005), all running strong. now only the 2005 wardrobe sliding door roller not so smooth now, this due to dust not quality.

Wardrobe installed by Ikea installer, and no problem with the quality. Due to my uneven floor, the installer have to level the wardrobe with extra wood else the sliding door will not roll smooth (always slide one way).

Others cabinet, one being the recent book cabinet installed by myself. Aligning the door is not easy, but is not impossible. Have to take account of floor leveling too.

@Adele,

actually the installer should have done the adjustment properly. i never had any issues but only engaged them twice. the smaller things i do myself because well i dont mind to.

no need to take out the door. you will need a philips screwdriver and adjust the hinges.

i wanted to ask you for a pic of your door but i found a website that makes it even easier. see here for instructions on where to adjust to level the door properly:

make a picture and post it. i wana see that. i have honestly never come across a door with a euro-hinge-system that cant be alligned unless the corpus is not properly done.

pls post a snap of the closed door and the wrong alignment visible and then one of the open door just in case. maybe we can troubleshoot from here.

I use ikea billy cabinet and many others ikea wardrobe. All DIY by myself. And the door can be align and pretty easy. Just follow the manual instruction.

First thing went buy IKEA thing and want DIY, finish read the manual first. Read again if not understand.

Possible depending on configuration. Did my L for wet kitchen using wooden worktops. No wall hung cabinets.

[90cm L base - Cooking utensils swing out] [80cm base - hob/ 2 tong gas] [void - dishwasher] [80cm - sink / waste]
[60cm base- Oven]

Should qualify the statement a bit - does not include installation. That cost me extra RM720 which includes hob, hood and sink installation. Plumbing and electrical all readied before hand.

how big is your kitchen? if using ikea stuffs, getting a drawer would be killler (expensive)... but there is an online configuration your can try...

http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_MY/rooms_ideas/splashplanners.html

You can use the kitchen planner... have tried it and it looks good... at the end, you could check how much you have to buy for that configuration and print out the list and start shopping...

I want to do a <120cm / 46" area for my cooking area, just the base, to put vitroceramic hob next time.
Already got existing kitchen cabinets, prebuilt when bought the condo.

Custom made quote me around RM1.9K, quartz stone table top. Is it expensive?
I am not sure will it be much cheaper if I try Kubiq or IKEA.
Kubiq seems like got bad review. Any idea about the Cheras branch one?
IKEA one, which series or set actually? FAKTUM?

ok here are some pictures of how their stuff looks like after almost 7 years. the top is still perfect even around the sink. all we do is give the fronts a wipe now and then.

pictures are for the drawer fronts, sink area, hob area and nearby - even the fumes cant do any damage to the wall cabinets as you can see (of course the hood is helping lah!).

this is the normal IKEA doors and worktop:

i worked with a combination of FAKTUM cabinets with ABSTRAKT and NEXUS doors. the worktop in the kitchen is NUMERÄR.

i just recently installed a FAKTUM kitchen & BESTA storage combo for the laundry room. those work well together with the high gloss doors.

and again the experience with the installers was great. they did a superb job esp. on the problem-areas (the wall is not straight!).

noryati,

this is my 5th ikea kitchen as i have done this for another apartment and another house before. the worktops are good with one exception: DO NOT EVER buy the el-cheapo PRÄGEL one!

I also used one of their fully oiled wood ones before. This is tideous cause you need to wax it every six months. it looks great though. if you forget to wax or you dont wipe water away quickly you spoil it though. had a tenant who didnt care (even though it was premium rental!) and the entire worktop around the sink area was mouldy! they never wiped water (idiots) and that was despite having a dishwasher. well long story short - had to redo the entire kitchen cause they were bad tenants.
had a wooden worktop myself for many years (now my parents stay there, still using the same worktop after now almost 15 yrs) and its still in good shape. the hob's paint is peeling now but the worktop is still almost like new. BUT you need to care for it. the NUMERÄR worktops are more durable cause they can tahan water and spoilage. so they are easier. i never tried the custom "granite" ones though. next time i redo will probably get that.

tiensong, if you lazy get them to do for you. its not expensive!

My 2nd Ikea kitchen. Posted this in another thread, and sharing again here. Still without tiles though. Everything inc the 80cm SS sink, plus installation about 7k as I bought a few cabinets from the As Is. Bought the top mostly from As IS and during sale, 126 cm for rm60 only. Porcelain sink also from Ikea but bought earlier. Ikea no longer sells porcelain. Think I got a cheap kitchen.
