Hi guys,
Any advice how do I plan my KC with IKEA? Should I design my KC myself using the designer's tools? Or should I go to the IKEA store and get their advice?
Clueless of how to start.
Thanks.

Bro, have you got it sorted out? I'd recommend you use their online designer tools beforehand. Makes things easier. They have hundreds of customers to entertain, surely won't be able to advise on every little detail.

Once you've done that, it is easier for the staff to spot anything that needs to be changed. Anyway, got mine all settled and now just waiting for the installer to come rclxm9.gif

Ikea solid wood worktop plus sink installation is about rm100 pfr. Fully aluminium base cabinet plus drawer and door is about rm300 pfr.

Wood worktop save me about rm100 pfr compare to granite. But must use with set on sink so that wet area still within sink. Sample of ikea sink.

Wood top need to oil annually or more. Nice to see, nice to touch provided you have the time and patient.

Yes, will oil it few coats with IKEA behandla(Actually it is water based emulsifier) to fill up the inner void in the wood. Wood is absorbing water.

In case grow mold due to water stain, I still can sand down the surface(2.8cm thick) with grit(course to fine) paper and re-oil.

Hi, sorry to bring up old threads, but anyone know if ikea worktop will fit on normal custom cabinet?
Is there any special attention need to focus on since the cabinet is not from Ikea range?

Most importantly, is the ikea worktop can fit or not?

Ikea's workstop is just a piece of wood.
Please measure your custom cabinet depth, if it matches with ikea's worktop, then it will fit.

Yes, the cabinets are good quality and long lasting. But Ikea will change the design one day and you will be left with no recourse to buy replacement parts or to change the doors or frames.
