Impec is a technological showcase for BMC because of their overspent automated giant carbon loom weaving machine. It produces tubes without having the need for carbon cloth cutouts to be fitted to moulds in order to create the tubes they need. Their machine will just weave, braid and apply resin to the tubes radially to form important tubes of the bike. Then it is joined by mirror images of carbon shells that forms the lugs to connecting the individual tubes.




It was reportedly too stiff or something like that and wasn't very favored by the pro team... which is why it wasn't popular... That being said, it was actually a very well thought concept as it is possible to bring back mass produced custom made sizes for carbon frames for the first time in many many years.

You can think of the TeamMachine as a RaceMachine with more compliancy built into it. RaceMachine has TCC (tuned compliance concept) applied on it's fork but TeamMachine has TCC both on it's fork and also on it's frame.

Only problem i heard so far is a seatpost that constantly slips as the design differs from RaceMachine. Nothing to worry as it is only micro-slippage where after a couple of weeks of riding. You might need to raise it a few MM's.

I can't tell you if it is good or bad as i have never really ridden one for a long time but only a short first impression and i am not for one to believe in first impressions.

For that price. It didn't gave full sram red. I think it was the calipers wasn't Red or something like that. Still no cheap stuff there, they fitted Tektro's TRP R970.

if your RM300 one is working fine or requiring minor repairs... suggest you use that for commuting as a commuter bike and a fancy leisure one doesn't mix... it'll get knicked pretty fast let alone one that is worth RM2k...

else, you'll be choosing at some flatbars whether it is 26" or 700c based ones... Polygon F series might be a good start...F3.0 is about RM1.9k on the price tag and F5.0 is RM2.7k on the tag last i saw...

best is to find your way into something more serious if you can afford it rather than trying to manage between both sensible and leisure...

SRAM Red 2012 or older one?

Have never seen a CAAD10 equipped like that over here in stock form. It must have been upgraded by the owner i think. It will not be cheap for a lightweight alloy bike. Expect at least RM9k and above since the Red would have costed at least RM5k over here when new and you have Ergonova bars which is another RM300-Rm400 bucks.

The wheel is a bit surprising though based on how the bike is equipped.

if purely commuting... your question is... are you allowed to bring your bike into the office? is lrt part of your journey? are you going to be able to stand leaving your bike away from you?

things to consider would be a folding bike if you can bring it onto office and LRT is a part of your journey as you can fold a foldie and lug it with you and place it under your workdesk...

else, an el-cheapo bike will do or you will be in extreme heartbreak if it gets stolen... you are leaving your bike out in the open for the best part of 8 hours mind you....

a hybrid is usually a MTB with skinny tires or a road bike with a flat MTB style handlebar... it is used for running errands or commuting to work..

it doesn't look like this years bike ... not sure bout last year though...

if you said it is still fairly new like 5 to 6 months old.. then get it (if you do not intend to get a carbon bike and the size is right)... no point thinking... it is not possible to be priced at AUD1.8k which is under RM6k if my calculation is correct?
