2nd, expeiment around and find out what you are uncomfortable or un-satisfied with...this will become a base for you and your fitter to work on and improve upon... what a true biomechanics fitting session does at the begining is an assesment of your physical condition (how flexible you are and critical measurements of your body parts) and an interview on the discomforts you feel on the bike for them to work on... they will then use their tools to help you adjust your position or recommend changes to certain things like moving saddle positions changing stem length or even adding biomehanical insole wedges to your existing shoe to correct improper tracking of your knees when you turn the cranks... that is how they conduct bg fit or retul fit sessions...

you can youtube them to gain an understanding... think there is a nice bg fit demo video done by a spez dealer to show how a session is ran...

there is also this dude called nick flyger who used to be hired by our national sports council to be their biomechanist and also penned a column in cycling malaysia... he did some fitting sessions for amateurs for quite an affordable fee but i think he has already left the post here back to his home country australia...

i wrote to him before discussing on biopace cranks before and some positioning queries during his time with cycling malaysia and he did reply with some rather interesting insights...

Added on January 3, 2013, 1:32 amyou do learn what characteristics you want or don't want as you try different saddles... and that is the rather unfortunate thing... applies to many things on the bike... you just compile them up and then sometime down the road... use the established list to look for the saddle that most suits you...

boonen rides on all 3 roubaix, venge and tarmac depending on the races... while contador rides exclusively on the tarmac... never seen him hop on the venge before for a race....

2010 sees him on the roubaix for the opening stage of le tour when it passes the cobble stages...then it was back to tarmac all the way...

if you sit on the rear a whole lot.. i suppose that would be the way.. but isn't the curvature of the arione a bit more forward than the toupe... if that is the case, it would be causing you to sit further back will it not?
