doesn't look serious as car chassis and engine bay no effected... still can repair it no doubt with some part replacement...

bcos hate to heard the cooling coil clogged due to dust, sand, leaves, insects, etc...

as long as can isolate debris away fr cooling coil then should be fine...
because still some of the car doesn't fit with it yet... even though fit with filter but doesn't come with filter...

i would suggest for preve CFE even though i'm manual freak...

i went to nissan show room ytday night have a look for almera... the car built quality does impress me, no doubt but seem the engine may difficult to maintain as air intake hose going thru the top of engine and the car chassis design similiar with myvi (torsion beam and 1000kg kerb weight only) which only suitable for casual / city driving as my opinion, preve is much better and heavier for high speed... hence almera the only 4AT which lack of power, may end up 5MT instead... compare almera 5MT RM67k (kosong car) and preve 7AT RM73k (full features), preferably go for preve instead... hence almera look a bit cramp for me too as i got long leg and doesnt comfortable for me, also look "emptiness" due to lack of features...

but preve's FC (turbo tuned engine) and maintenance (you know i know) are questionable... maintenance i have no issues as i like to DIY to solve any small matters by myself... resale value are difficult to judge, AMO just 10% differences compare good & bad resale value... but if planned to drive it more than 10 years, no need to consider on resale value at all, just look on the year end discount (to clear off this year car), spare part availability and spare part pricing will do, i guess preve still the winner here...i afraid almera will be another Vios that too much of batches and models released and certain spare parts only for certain batches only (if no mistaken), even have the tuned IMPUL accessories from factory for almera too, total RM88k... but so far seldom happened to proton and new spare part can use on older batches too as proton wont change the moulding too much and bulk production to reduce the manufacture cost...

but most probably i will get preve end of next year instead as preferably to wait for the rectification of common issues... hate to visit SC oftenly with new car...

asked me to say NO to preve...


as checked and double confirmed with my colleague... he recalled the SA's iPad calculator again...
9 years total interest RM7xxx; 5 years total interest RM3xxx

anyway, the price is based on Almera, assumed is the low spec RM67k...
the interest should higher than the figure as above if fixed car loan...

my 3 colleague driving honda, toyota and hyundai... so guess it why they say so...


i did a visit to Nissan and Proton to test drive with Almera and Preve...

Almera:
no doubt about the engine performance 1.5cc, maybe bcos of light kerb weight 1000kg, floor the pedal and my wife can feel the pressure as she said she "glued" on the back seat while i floor pedal... cabin size, just right enough for me and slightly bigger than honda city... finish quality mo doubt, still better than Preve... Steering wheel lighter than Preve... rear seat seem have longer leg room as feel by my wife compare to Preve... also have informative meter like Preve, such as average fuel consumption, KM to empty tank, etc... but lack of features even though full spec version and chassis still with rear torsion beam and required to fork out another RM3000-RM6000 for proper upgrade with recommended accessories and RM1500 (offering 50% off from Rm3000) for IMPUL body kit only ... but sad only that 1 air bag for low spec and my wife complain about it...

Preve:
I tested the first batch, the door panel will "pregnant" after the window fully up... i told to SA that i dont want waist my time to solve the common issues but SA claimed confidently that Proton solved the power window issues and remap ECU on the second batch which is started manufactured from 10th of November onwards... rear bonnet cabin seem a little bit smaller as the "wide ass" shorter than almera... the cabin floor surface seem a bit higher than almera, end up the rear passenger's leg have to lift higher... but of cos Preve are wider than Almera as Preve can sit 3 person easily at rear seat... can feel Preve have much roomy at front seat as the dashboard have the distance betweem driver and passenger but Almera are much closer... features wise, no doubt Preve win with both hands up, henve can override with the gearing by using paddle shift even though under full auto mode (can upshift / downshift manually under D mode)... but sad that no leather seat, have to settle it by myself...

Conclusion:
Comparing between Almera basic auto spec with all the recommended upgrade RM70k + RM6k + RM1.5k and Preve CFE with rich features RM68k... still i think will go for Preve instead... hope Proton wont disappointing me as i highlighted the power window issues to SA repeat and repeat...

i suggest go with CFE instead...
otherwise i will go for manual if planned for CPS as CPS itself still lack of power with auto...

i planned for CFE but driving around Klang Valley too as i like to play with paddle shift too...

doubt is the weather issues...

i used with PU leather on my current myvi without any maintenance, no cracks or whatever for 6 years...
i guess i will wrap a cheap PU leather as well as it consider as part of "wear and tear"

I met the dealer... but one of LYN forumer from same branch) say can get RM5500...

confirmed RM5000.00 discount AT LEAST for preve CFE... end up preve CFE about RM68k only...
but the SA keep pushing me to achieve his sales target... my decision is about 7 years commitment...
so compare to "empty" almera and "full" preve with same price... what you think?

anyway, as confirmed the current preve is 2nd batch which solved the common issues...

can go for Eneos 5-30? it selling RM105 at some spare part shop...
i guess it should better than Petronas semi sync if the Eneos's oil groups higher than Petronas...
bcos no matter mineral, semi syc or fully syc category, there have have the oil groups for different category...
we even can get fully syc around RM120-RM150 easily, but oil groups are questionable...


i considering to wrap a leather seat instead... maybe go for PU leather instead for better protection...

what means side airbag stitching?
thought the side air bag from the seat belt height adjuster of the pillar?

side air bag inside the front seat?
doubt can do the wrapping as the fabric must fragile enough to break...

it could be means the mixture of 1st and 2nd batch of Preve...
bcos as info from SA, all the power window issues solved on 2nd batch which manufactured 10th Nov onwards...

as statement above, they may afraid the 2nd batch owner thought it is compulsory to change since it solved... that why the stated "Possible"

actually i thinking wrap without remove the original fabric, just simply "plug and play" with leather cover... is it possible?

look like the 6:40?

seem i guess have to stick to fabric seat and do replacement maybe every 5 years instead...


maybe i look for "weak" seat cover instead... dont go for full leather as may harder to break it even though with "weak" stitching...
