I did dismantle the c pillar cover, mounting board and everything and test drive with naked rear deck laugh.gif
Still dont know the source of sound, but it is somewhere at the deck. Most probably the chassis itself.

This is original rear speaker - double cone full range  speaker. Front i changed to branded component  speaker and the sound is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better thumbup.gif

Hi bro,

Just want to ask, do you need to dismantle the C pillar to remove the rear mounting board?

Or just pull down the car seat and remove some screws? Want to minimise the work wink.gif

In the meantime

Good morning to all Preveians.. wub.gif

It's Friday.. rclxm9.gif

ryuken74, yes you need to nod.gif

flip down rear seat->unscrew small fabric seat at the bottom using 7mm spanar->unscrew 3 screw at mounting board->pull out rubber lining which blocked c pilar cover->remove c pilar cover carefully->pull out mounting board, then u will see the inner rear deck and speaker tongue.gif

Cant find more simple way than these step brows.gif

thanks for the detail explanation.. notworthy.gif

Under the hot sun, open the bonnet, open the headlamp bulb cover at the back, let it dry for like 10 to 15 minutes, put back the bulb cover and try again.

If remain the same, claim warranty. biggrin.gif
*
thanks for the tip, anyway, I will call up the SC near my place and check whether can claim warranty or not.

I personally think that maybe ur headlight got cracked somewhere. OR problem with the sealant.

Better try this before sent to sc

1) spot any cracked (if spotted then need to replace i thnk)
2) if no crack, try to put silicon to seal the suspected area

Just my opinion smile.gif
*
checked, no crack. both headlamp also same.. and secondly I will call up the SC to check for warranty claim.
not going to put sealant, just in case they void my warranty..

better don do DIY... cos later the sc say u diy void warranty, any problem just send to SC.. let them settle easier, if they cannot settle last resort only DIY..

I think will call up the SC and check for warranty claim first, just wanted to know whether the headlamp mist is a common problem with the Preve or not..

Anyone else having the same problem and claimed warranty?

ryuken74, you can claim under warranty if you want to.
but to me if simple drying can solve the issue, I wouldn't want them to open my parts. Later if here or there scratch, tak best sudah

Its Sunday, Good morning Preveians smile.gif

Bet everyone is enjoying the sleep and relaxing rather than posting in forum..

Just a quick post..sunbath my headlamp yesterday, no rain when I drove out yesterday, so cannot check the headlamp mist problem but the driver's side power window 'gluk gluk gluk' sound during up/down when I sunbath my car yesterday...

Want to fix one problem, another problem come out.. vmad.gif

Proton please buckle up, the design is nice, the road handling is excellent, but with all minor problems and need to go SC often is a real pain in the A**..

Preve is for those who have many extra time or annual leave to go to SC often or DIY ownself??? whistling.gif

QUOTE(Gigabit @ Dec 12 2012, 09:22 AM)
It is not just proton service that sucks...other service as well. For example, try booking bus ticket to singapore via a luxurious bus coach company, made a call and confirm booking of seat. Try calling next day and reconfirm again, the agent said that your booking was not recorded.

I think sometimes the people behind the customer service line should be blamed and not the company. Shame though that these few bad hat spoils the reputation of the company.

*
+1

Maybe we should record the conversation just like the banks doing it.. laugh.gif

I think there is an online booking for proton service, or was it perodua..forgot d.. can use online booking and have black and white record..

As for the car coating, near the wheel arch, always have tar/bitumen from the road, it is impossible to wash away even after coating..
if I use those tar removal product, is it ok?? the coating will be gone??

I only got my service done, told them my problems, they ask me to make another appointment for that, i dont understand why. I've called Proton i-care and complained, but dont think anything will be done, as the person answering the call also tidak-apa attitude.

I waited for 2hours then left in a cab, then came back 345pm and waited till about 530pm.

Proton i-care become Proton i-don't-care? laugh.gif

The SC I went to service my car at Damai Perdana, asked for warranty claim but they ask me to call Desa Tun Razak and have to leave my car there for them to verify the problem and see whether can claim warranty or not.. shakehead.gif

Hi Guys,

Just received my black Preve Executive CVT this afternoon. I've been eyeing Preve since its Tuah reincarnation. I settled for executive as it is still within my affordability and after following this thread for quite some time. Checked my chassis number and it indicates 19xxx.

I was driving it mildly and cant wait until the running in period is over. Left my car under the rain in the evening. Once the rain stopped i decided to give it a run again. However, i have to turn the ignition 3 times before it starts. Then when i reversed the car, it almost stalled.

*
I got my Preve Exec 1.5 months ago, the chasis number is 20xxx, how come yours is 19xxx?

by the way, if your shift from D to R too fast the car will likely to stall.. - read somewhere that it is a safety feature..

hi guys, i am new here please help to buy my first car.
Today i went to proton showroom and i saw the preve and i really like it, but i heard that there is problems with the cfe version so i am thinking to go with the IAFM version but before i go with this option
please tell me what are the common problems?, and is it easy to fix it if there is? what about the FC?, stability on the road? and also one agent tell me it's under power is it right?
please share if you have more information, thanks and best regards
*
if you are not those drivers who wants to spin the wheel from start, the preve iafm cvt is ok..stability is good even at 140~150km/h

common problems can easily fix at SC but need time..sometimes very frus with SC that need whole day for a minor fix..
FC is around 10l~12l/100km city driving..

I think most of CFE major problem already solve for the new production...

YOu guys have any idea on how to eject the cd??? - No idea, last time mine stuck inside a car DVD unit, I just push in another disc half way in for it to detect and pull out, then let the unit motor move few times, the disc that stuck inside came out a bit and I pull it out by force.. tongue.gif

If you can dismantle the CD mechanism, there should be some gears and pulley between the printed circuit board and the CD slot mechanism, can turn the gear manually to move the CD out....I have not seen any force eject mechanism for the slot in type CD mechanism, only those normal tray type have...it was 5 or 6 years back, maybe the new slot in type mechanism have force eject?? .... not so fancy of slot in mechanism..

So far my other problem:

i) Gear console light not turn on. - No gear console light for Preve Exec CVT
ii) Cold start and stalled engine. (eventhough i wait until engine checked) - Go SC to check
iii) Left aircond vent not fit properly (cannot turn left or right) - Go SC to rectify
iv) alignment is a bit off to the left - Free alignment if less than 1000km at SC

Is time to FUCUK again.
Yeah, what else can I do? I had emailed them, call them, filled up form at their website & facebook...all went into hell.
I called last time, and ecotint asked me to refer back to Proton for the warranty.
Thanks to explain. Tire to tell same story again.
*
I think you need to FUCUK the manager of the SC and ask him for compensation..

As bro Allenultra pointed out, it is not the warranty anymore, it is negligence of Proton SC, they should be responsible to replace it at their cost..

I just received call from ICare asking me to go meet someone at service centre, and asked me to bring along the warranty card. Hmm...so they want to claim from ecotint?  hmm.gif
A silly question from me, whats the ecotint warranty card for? to claim manufacturer defeat?

My conclusion is that ICare is really S**K, their facebook seems to be more effective  nod.gif
*
Got this from Ecotint website:

Question : What does Ecotint Warranty entail?
When installed by Ecotint authorised Installers, Ecotint warranty covers:-
• Peeling, cracking, delamination, fading, decolourization and demetalization
• For 5 to 10 years depends on the specific Ecotint series selected.
Such warranty is void if the product is subjected to scratches, abuse, improper care, loosen window panes, poor grouting, natural disaster or installed by unauthorised installer.

What it matters here is the SC that broke your windscreen should be held responsible for fixing it back completely. Not asking the owner to go and claim the warranty from Ecotint, they should contact Ecotint and fix it..

yes, bro wewanwang have been bugging the SC for few months...still have not settle this ecotint issue..I think it depends on certain SC...
but sadly to say, I heard more bad SC than good SC.. sad.gif

Going to try Desa Tun Razak SC on my next service.. hopefully will be a good one.. anyone know how to check the firmware version for CVT Exec? Saw that there is a new firmware update for Preve Exec as well..

Hi To All Preverian,

just got the car early of this month (exec Manual). Found some problems in my car:

actually found some problems this few days
1. when at night, raining, my 4 windows will getting blur and sometimes my windscreen
also getting blur easily, need to use viper regularly to clear up this blur. dont
is it bcoz of power window regulator problem that got wind flow inside the car
making it easy to getting blur.

if i know preve manual got clutch hardness and slow pickup, rather spend 10K+ to get the turbo CFE. even i think better get the Exec Auto rather than manual. really regretted....
*
maybe your aircond is blowing at the windows?? mine always have slight fog during morning/night when my aircond blowing at the side.

if you think preve manual have slow pickup, then you can just forget about Exec Auto...

Preve is not a light car like Vios/City/Myvi,it is a 1.3ton car, a bit 'lazy' during start from stop position..but I saw a lot of forumers compliment the new ECU/TCU remap for the CFE version makes the car have better pickup..

I bet most of the exec/manual owners only tested the premium version as they don't have a test drive unit for exec model.
*
agree, not sure about other Sales office, but the one I went to only have Preve CFE for test drive and also only have CFE for viewing..

have been driving the cvt exec for almost 2 months...not too bad..the engine roar at 2k rpm when move from stop condition, else everything is good..

Just want to ask whether the driver seat 'krik krok krik krok' sound already solve by Proton? It is very annoying..the seat is hard and not so comfortable..dunno why Proton use this kind of seat... sad.gif
