farique..

can swap myvi/viva absorber into kelisa but need to remove the '8' at axle there..

user posted image

yg absorber punya mount bawah tu ye? so myvi/viva punya abs tak pakai '8' tu la kan, direct terus pasang pada 'lower arm' tu?

btw, did alignment and the tech says that the car 'tarik kiri' abit too much. The castor value is almost 0°5' for the left wheel and 0°06' for the right wheel. The tech says that possibly the castor out because of my crossmember/subframe is slightly aligned to the left hence, the car is interest in pulling to the left.

I too notice that the steering wheel is slightly tilt to the left and I really do need to do little corrections to get the car run straight.

Does adding rigid collars/stiff rings/CAK kit will solve this?

or am I just too naive to believe that crossmembe/subframe will have such effects on alignment?

btw, the car is already 11 years old..and that reason play great role in believing that what the tech says is true.. unsure.gif

u can just buy one unit from acc shop. Look for made in malaysia. Tho its not original but, it works better than 'outside' made.

Hi guys, my left front wheel is producing those screeching sound when the car is moving. Is it because of my car wheel bearing?
*
screeching? wheel bearing out will make humming sound.. not screeching. This is a first. Was it during cornering? Is the tyre thread still deep and not botak?

I think as long as the car is moving, the sound is there. Tyre not botak

Found the problem. It was the brake pad scratched the disc causing the sound.
*
time to change brake pad.. nod.gif

Not Perodua SC.

The sound looks like "a pin didn't lock tight onto something and it keep hitting that something"
*
wow.. Im having a hard time imagining the 'sound' from ur description.. perhaps, sending it back to where u fix ur brake pad would be a good idea. smile.gif

hi

i plan to buy a used kelisa around 10-yr old (or more).

any specific things i should look out for?
& what are things are should do first after i got the car?
& where is the nearest reliable kelisa repair place around bangi/kajang?

for a 10 yr old, most notably is the paint. The paint will be oxidized and look dull or yellow-ish. But it can be save just by sending the car to auto-detailer to get the oxidize layer buffed off. You'll get almost sparkling new paint job minus the paint job itself.

Check for engine oil leak. Anything that's black and wet, there's leak. Dont forget the oil sump see if its wet, and also check for leak between engine and gearbox attachment. Prone to flywheel oil seal giving away. If there's leakage, gonna cost roughly rm300 or less to get it fixed since the engine needs to be taken out to disassemble the gearbox from the engine to replace the flywheel oil seal.

Check for absorber leak, go for a test drive. If the drive is not so smooth going over bumps and some weird 'clunks' and 'clonks' sound, probably the absorbers are dead.

Check the radiator water, if its dark-yellow, its rust. Dont worry. A good radiator flush will get them cleaned. If its red or green, its the radiator coolant. Meaning, its all good.

Check the engine oil dipstick (cool engine, not warmed up engine). Take out the dipstick and touch and feel the oil with ur fingers. Feel if there's any minute particles in the oil. If its just oil, then its all good inside there. If there's small particle that you could feel with ur fingers, something is not right on the inside..

After you got the car, get it serviced. This so that you can track record of your car service life. Change the engine oil (and oil filter), if the the odometer is more than 100K or even 200K, a timing belt change is a good idea. If the dealer could provide when was the time the belt were changed, then you just need to wait for the time it should to change the belt. Usually 80K interval for OEM Perodua belt and 60K for aftermarket belt.

I think that's about it.

bangi/kajang? Im not well versed with that area. There is one shop in Sungai Merab that caters to kelisa. He does engine conversion.

1. Where do i get more grounding cable. I mean the original one not those octopus
2. How much is the front and rear absorbers? Recommend me an ok brand. I want comfort with 'better handling'. No ride height change

Btw Kelisa will return 11-12 cents/km easy (6.4-6.6 litre per 100km)
*
u want more grounding cable for? are you talking about the original after market like HKS and Pivot grounding cables?

I for one, to this date have not known the benefits of fitting this grounding cable. Unless the car is a audio-shop show car with loads of amps, woofers and speakers that requires power. For a stock car.. what can we benefits from it actually?

comfort and better handling is subjective. If you want comfort, use back OEM absorbers made by KYB (Kayaba). Around RM70~80 per piece. But if the mounts and bushings are worn, nothing much of a comfort u can get. OR, if u have the budget, get a custom tailored absorbers from Titan.

better handling, u need stiffer suspension setup. But if comfort still in mind, get front strut-bar installed. That'll improve handling a little more without sacrificing comfort-ness.

absorbers dont play any role in ride height. Its the springs.

QUOTE(onthefly @ Apr 13 2012, 10:01 AM)
got a flat tire. kelisa stock tire is 13 or 14 ?
*
check on the tyre itself. Look for something like 165/60/13 or 165/55/14. The last 2 digits represent the size of the tyre.

the benefits? take your stock one out then your aircond compressor will go nuts...

was on HWL bout 4 years back, cant take the harshness...

70-80 even for front?

not too sure, that was years ago I quoted for.

The cost perodua quoted me (rm483.70) is for flywheel+drive shaft+torque converter oil seals, o-ring, coolant, atf & labor. Reasonable or expensive?
*
wow..so many to change.

Try asking for outside workshop and see if they could give u cheaper. Perodua SC charge expensive for its labor and parts. But you could still get OEM parts from parts shop for a cheaper price. Like for example, kelisa front headlight will cost as much as RM120 per side where as I could get local parts for RM80 per pair. smile.gif

yeah, very common to kelisa and kenari on 1.0 engine.

to reduce the noise, get some grease and put it under the air-cond belt. Just to ease the movement of the belt.

Or, could check if the air-cond belt is old and saggy..

my air filter box/casing kong already..cannot lock the air filter properly..spare part shop got sell?..i was thinking to use open pod..easy..but scared if later the FC will increase..this car easily deliver about 90km/rm10..everything in stock..except the air cond compressor..was modified by the previous owner to use a better compressor..
*
we are in the same boat. The right side clip broke off. Now the box is making the 'dud dud dud dud dud' sound, vibrates on low revs. Not sure myself if the clip can be bought tho. Perhaps, can DIY by locking it with wire?

what compressor is it?

Hey guys, my original stock muffler needs changing due to rust for the 3rd time. Any recommendation on which brand/shop to go to? I've heard of hotbits and marco exhaust system, but which is more suitable for my Auto Kelisa? Btw how much to change from extractor till the tailpipe?
*
the rust just the case of the muffler or whole pipe is rusting and about to breaks off?

Auto needs to retain s-flow muffler, the big box is required. Dont go for straight-flow muffler. Its gonna sound loud on auto.

someone is selling full Marco exhaust system from extractor till muffler tip. Click here
QUOTE(Imprezho @ K2OC.com)
Guys im letting go my my full exhaust system MARCO BRAND. Letting go for RM 500 from (extractor-exhaust tip). Call me at 0196686278 if your interested. TQ

what Engine Oil did you bought? per liter bottle eh?

Fan belt? LOL was it alternator belt?

Rear number plate lamp, was it bulb or the whole lamp assembly? If its for only bulb, RM20 per piece is kinda expensive dont u think? I replaced my brake light bulb for RM4. Sendiri tukar.

ATF fluid 3L, per liter bottle Dexron III is RM25? Wow.. pretty expensive. sweat.gif I bought ATF oil for Picanto made in Korea for RM18 per liter.

and ouh, the air filter, was it Perodua?

didnt change the plugs as well?

QUOTE(ajay67 @ Apr 23 2012, 06:41 AM)
Come to think of it, the perodua bangi's price i went earlier is not too much diff
*
if the price all-in, which including labor cost and tax (?), could have gone to them. But yeah, some place charge more while other place charge minimal. But for out-of-warranty cars, better off with 3rd party workshops. Saves alot. smile.gif

Super expensive? U should asked me what is the price when i asked few other workshop. Look here and there, ok RM1.3k. Dafuq.
All lamps are as whole casing, not just the bulb.

Added on April 23, 2012, 6:46 pmI dont bother to go somewhere else since this workshop do all my cars, and they never quote me something overpriced smile.gif
*
well.. I can definitely say the air-filter u paid is expensive. And the oil-filter too. Both items from Perodua costs a mere RM20 for air filter and RM10 for oil filter. Or even less.

they can give you cheap price since you are doing everything in one go. Definitely they can include 'extra' cost with here n there parts. Cause you wouldnt even bother asking them. I too was in your shoe.

the story was, I was asking him to see if the oil leak can be repaired. As its already time for oil change, I ask him to do the 'proper' stuffs. Left the car 11am and take it later in the evening. Costs me RM800. Oil change, oil filter, air filter, throttle body cleaning (merely spraying solvent into the throttle body), injector cleaner (dump it into fuel tank), and lastly 'tuning'.. yeah, "tuning".. hook-up the OBDII socket and gives out the readings and print out the live-engine data..

and that costs me RM800. Told my friend (used to be mechanic at FastFix) about it and he said it was a rip-off. Well.. learnt the lesson the hard way. If you do everything one-go, they can always charge extra. Without you even knowing it. And the oil still leaks! vmad.gif

Finally solved the oil leak by me and my friend. And costs a mere Rm5. O-ring. Oil-filter attachment O-ring. Damn rubber seals..
