QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 2 2013, 03:58 PM) For second hand item, if your condition still similar then should fetch very similar price. 85mm on DX goes to about 135mm's FOV on FX. I feel that 85mm on DX feels rather tight, need quite some space even just to get half body photograph but it's case by case, some people like 135mm on FX, some people like it on DX. To me - there's no fixed rule on what focal length on DX / FX. and your 18-105 VR is a very good starter lens. You can use software like http://www.cpr.demon.nl/prog_plotf.html to find out your usual focal length (and even ISO, shutter speed, so on so forth)

define STAGE. 85mm sometimes too near, sometimes not enough also. if I want to take photo of people on stage, I'll get a telephoto zoom lens. 80-200 / 70-200 for example.

ehh you ask so much - you should familiarize your with the focal lengths first, then need not ask so many questions. You'll know what you need in the end.
