apparently there's a trend (a stupid one IMO) of documenting the unboxing process.

not that I care really. I don't see the purpose of unboxing videos.
some people like it, I find it nonsensical. Got time? show me a video of the camera itself rather than the box ......... and the contents ........ and how does one systematically (or not) remove the content before reaching the camera. |

depends la. some of us don't like HUGE and ugly looking watermarks, so we put at one corner. some put outside of the photo too.
those types are removed just by cropping. |

the good SD cards have write speeds 20mb/s or more, should work fine for JPG and some RAW sizes.

QUOTE(shinchan^^ @ Jan 21 2013, 09:28 AM) D800 one raw is up to 200MB per picture that's why i say "some RAW sizes". btw how high an ISO to reach 200mb? is it possible to even balloon up to that size? |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Jan 21 2013, 03:00 PM) I haven't seen a 200MB file yet... neither have I. even the TIFF file from Hasselblad H3D also about 70 - 80mb or so. So I can't imagine a 36mp FX sensor RAW image with high ISO could balloon up to 200mb. |

just stop the buying frenzy. find out the focal length that suits your style and go for it.

85mm on DX goes to about 135mm's FOV on FX.
I feel that 85mm on DX feels rather tight, need quite some space even just to get half body photograph but it's case by case, some people like 135mm on FX, some people like it on DX. To me - there's no fixed rule on what focal length on DX / FX. and your 18-105 VR is a very good starter lens. You can use software like http://www.cpr.demon.nl/prog_plotf.html to find out your usual focal length (and even ISO, shutter speed, so on so forth) |

define STAGE.
if I want to take photo of people on stage, I'll get a telephoto zoom lens. 80-200 / 70-200 for example. |

ehh you ask so much - you should familiarize your with the focal lengths first, then need not ask so many questions. You'll know what you need in the end.

yes I can see your setup. I'm using 60D with 15-85, add a 580EX II (equivalent of SB800 / SB900) and you see how heavy if can be.
Sometimes I hold them on 1 hand, shoot video while the other hand doing things. for example. 60D + 15-85 + 580EX II on my right hand as I use my left hand to meddle with the device. |
