I think you're using it with Canon EF lens? I'm refering to Canon FD lens, those are the old lenses and aperture can be controlled. Just wondering how feasible to take, let's say if I get a Canon FD 135mm F/2.5 - probably need to use shutter speed above 1/200 for really shake-free photo...

hi all, to NEX 5N users, do you face overheating problems? been taking videos these few days and keep getting overheating even after few minutes of video (though camera might have been on for a while).
is there any fix for this or can i send this back to sony for some repair or something? |

29:50 i think is the max limit. If you get that means ok not overheating. If overheat you'll get a warning and camera shuts off automatically. So fustrating even in ac room it kept overheating after 3-4 mins only.
Read a lot of other forums talking about this and the heatsink fix toon but not sure if safe to do so (as someone mentioned is it cooling the sensor or the temp probe only?) QUOTE(weikoon @ Dec 16 2012, 11:40 PM) just now had a video shooting with 5n, but it stop at 29:50 ...i guess overheating....then i turn it off and restart it, bt lasted for 2 mins only....then i tilted the screen for cooling effect, then no more problem i guess( i only capture 10 mins+ coz session ends) Added on December 17, 2012, 12:03 amI tried to do this too but never worked not sure whether the shape too small or big. Mind sharing a photo of how the cardboard is attached to the lens? QUOTE(nlik @ Dec 17 2012, 12:00 AM) Testing Picture attachment. Testing and Experimenting with Heart shape bokeh, sorry for the boring subject . It's not perfect yet as I'm just using paper cardboard, but will refine it. Hmm i did the same too but couldnt get the shape. Weird...
QUOTE(nlik @ Dec 17 2012, 01:22 AM) ![]() I've placed the Tutorial Link on the 1st page. But anyway the formula seems to be focal length/ aperture. So mine is 35mm f1.8 (nikon), where is 35/1.8 is 1.9444 cm which should be the max size of the shape. But for this experiment, i cut out 1.2cm X 1.2 cm in the middle only. I haven't tried on the Zoom lens let.. 50/5.6 =0.89 cm... haha.. |

If you read the playmemories terms and condition, it's not allowed to share apps this way, it's piracy...

QUOTE(hnr2802 @ Jan 18 2013, 09:44 AM) Sigma 19mm + 30mm Two Lenses for One Price $199 Right now there is a Sigma Lens deal which includes the 19mm F/2.8 and 30mm F/2.8 prime lenses bundled into one discount price. You can choose either a set for Sony E Mount cameras, or the set for Micro Four Thirds cameras. I have the 30mm on my Sony NEX7 and really enjoy this lens. I may have to get a set for the new GH3 at these prices. [Update] These sold out quick and the listing shows a Back-ordered status, but I have just verified with B&H you can still place an order if you want to take advantage of these prices and it will ship when it is back in stock. Click through the links below for the deal. |

It's back ordered now, so have to wait for availability. I've signed up for notification alert once they have stock.
Are you interested in the 19 mm (and someone else take the 30mm) or are you interested to share shipping cost eg buy 2 sets of twin lens, save about usd25 or rm75 only... QUOTE(d4rkholeang3l @ Jan 19 2013, 10:27 PM) |

would be interesting to see the pricing for this, and how it compares to sigma 19mm f/2.8
QUOTE(idoblu @ Jan 23 2013, 12:12 PM) ![]() hot damn! this is for me! New 20mm F2.8 ‘pancake’ wide angle lens (model SEL20F28) Sony has announced the E 20mm F2.8 - a moderately wide-angle pancake prime lens for its NEX cameras. The moderately-fast E-mount pancake will offer a 30mm equivalent field of view and adds another compact lens option for NEX shooters. It will be available in April for around $350 When mounted on any Sony α E-Mount camera, the sharp new SEL20F28 ”pancake” lens creates an exceptionally versatile, portable package ideal for a broad range of everyday shooting opportunities ranging from interiors to landscapes, street photography, casual snapshots and more. The new lens features an ultra-slim design approximately 20mm from lens front to back, and with its wide angle of view (30mm on 35mm equivalent) and bright F2.8 aperture, it produces excellent contrast, resolution and clarity across the frame for both still image and full HD video shooting. |

i've never bought from bhphoto so not completely sure, but based on the site:
SubTotal: $199.00 Sales Tax: $0.00 Shipping: $50.03 Order Total: $249.03 After conversion, it should be around RMRM760, so per lens would be RM380. QUOTE(irudono @ Jan 30 2013, 12:23 AM) |

different price range bro... so huge difference...
Sigma 30mm - RM390 current two for one promo (normal price RM600+)? SEL35F18 - RM1350 SEL50F18 - RM950 ? Sigma 30mm doesn't have OSS... that's a slight drawback compared to the other two. I'm still trying it out so far, will have to try to do comparison shots of 3 lenses to see (I have the kit 1855, sigma 30 and also a Canon FD 50mm) QUOTE(wiNd @ Feb 4 2013, 11:16 PM) |

well, sometimes you want to shoot at fixed lower ISO not 1600/3200.
the rattling sound is normal i think, once you power up there is no sound. and when you get focus, it has that clicking sound, i realize that's coming from the aperture, if you notice when you adjust the aperture (in A mode) the physical aperture doesn't move. it's only when you half press shutter that the aperture gets into position. this is unlike the kit 1855 where the aperture changing 'live' as you adjust the setting. took some sample shots and yes i think they are much better than kit... gonna compare with kit some time, take same shot same setting same distance and see how both compares so far i think it's a great deal for the twin lens package, but i checked bhphoto and it's back ordered again. looks like many bargain hunters worldwide QUOTE(ultrageek @ Feb 5 2013, 10:03 AM) While the 30mm doesn't have OSS, but when you pair it with ISO 1600/3200 and wide open at 2.8, why do you need OSS? Heck, I've been whacking it at 2.8 all the time and I've noticed very few (if any) blurred shots! If you look and read the reviews, this is one of those few rare lenses that have no need to stop down at all, unlike most in order to get the best out of it! Try it. You'll be suprised that even without the OSS, this is a great performer. A lot of ppl are surprised by just how good it is. On paper, it's dismissed due to the lack of OSS. That it's only 2.8. But once you have a go, and you realised that for ONLY a few hundreds RM, there is absolutely no comparisons whatsoever! Also, when you shake the lens, it feels like there is something loose in it! Really, no joke! My only regret? I wished I had it earlier!!! If you go through my blog, almost every shot is taken with the 30mm, especially all those Lego ones and my friend's wedding thread, sans the group photos. It's now officially my kit lens. I hardly want to touch my 1855 anymore. And to make things worst, I recently got a Pentax to NEX adapter so that I can use my old Pentax 50/1.4 and 100/3.5. Guess I'll be going on primes soon! Now, about that 19mm... vegas007, Yes, I am using the F3. |
