I believe the NEX-5R comes with the standard external flash (HVL-F7S like 5N?)
btw Sony seems to have some promo going on, but I think you can find better deals outside e.g. studio zaloon, dy divine, boeing maybe and etc... http://www.sony.com.my/microsite/nex-chinese-new-year-offer/ This post has been edited by poolcarpet: Feb 5 2013, 05:30 PM |

Read the reason for the upgrade - it's to enable phase detection for that lens, when used with 5R/6. 5N don't have phase detection, what to upgrade?

you should contact the seller to rectify. either return or swap with another one. some 3rd party batt will not work.
i'm also using a 3rd party batt as spare but it works fine no warning messages so i think the batt you have is not compatible. QUOTE(mysjumblesale @ Feb 10 2013, 12:46 AM) |

i took one only, wanted the 30mm and another forumer took the 19mm, we just split half for the cost, it was about RM800 after incl. shipping/conversion so roughly RM390-400 per person.
if you had indicated interest earlier, we could have ordered 2 x twin lens and save another USD12.50 in shipping QUOTE(johnchew91 @ Feb 15 2013, 10:45 AM) |

Example like if you use Canon FD lenses, then you need the FD-NEX adaptor. If you use other mounts, then look for the adaptor. LYN forumer sevenor is selling all kinds of manual lenses and he is highly recommended if you're looking for various types.
I also have one Canon FD 50mm F/1.4 for sale if anyone is interested in trying out manual lenses QUOTE(wiNd @ Feb 19 2013, 07:51 PM) 1. Optional. If you want to use other lenses (Canon, Nikon, etc), you need to buy adapters. Else, just use Sony E-Mount lenses. This post has been edited by poolcarpet: Feb 19 2013, 10:42 PM2. There are electronic adapters (with AF) and normal adapters (without AF, manual focus) 3. Nope. |

anyone care to try these bazookas on their NEX? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(albnok @ Feb 21 2013, 11:58 AM) Actually: This post has been edited by poolcarpet: Feb 21 2013, 12:49 PMFish Eye = gives a fisheye perspective (all straight lines that cross the center of the image stay straight, but if it does not, it becomes curved) Rectilinear = the standard, non-fisheye perspective Portrait can be any focal length, even traditionally up to 90mm (135mm on full-frame) Zoom = any lens that can change focal length - that means a 11-18mm is a Ultra Wide Angle Zoom while a 300mm is not a zoom Telephoto = any lens with a focal length longer than the 'normal' field of view - on APS-C this would start at 50mm Macro = any lens that can give 1:1 magnification - you can fill the frame with an object that is the same size as the sensor e.g. a 36x24mm stamp fills up the frame on a 36x24mm full-frame camera, if you're using a 1:1 macro lens. A 1:4 magnification means it can only go as small as 144x96mm on full-frame, for example. |

That lens is ok good. You need to learn manual focus and have steady hands. The aperture is pentagon shaped so if you're looking for nice round bokeh this lens may not give you perfect results.
Compare with kit lens, you can shoot at f1.8 a 50mm on this, good for low light and shallow depth of field. Kit lens i think is a f5.6 a 50mm. I've used this lens before and it's good for beginner. QUOTE(shahazwan @ Feb 21 2013, 11:01 PM) need opinion, how good this lens compared to kit lens? (16-55) http://www.mudah.my/Canon+FD+Legacy+MF+Pri...ns-18895229.htm sharp? bokeh? i'm new in photography.. |

I think you can ask around photo shops in Digital Mall or Lowyat and I'm guessing NEX 5N price should be around RM1800 now... think it's considered old model now that 5R and 6 is out....

I thought NEX F3 is only RM1599?? Just did quick google search found this (see the comment by user helencc) : (I don't know the person, and no idea about F3 price, I'm a regular user not a trader)
http://www.andrewxander.com/review/new-sony-nex-f3/ Do you really need the dual lens which is SEL16F28? Now Sigma has a fantastic offer for the 19mm - some forumers are looking for kaki to share the Sigma twin lens package I think. Check the reviews of the Sony 16mm vs the Sigma 19mm, in 35 mm format this would be 24mm vs 28.5mm.... if really need the 24mm wide angle then go for it, but if not I think worth checking out the Sigma 19mm...
