today i test drove the 1.3 and 1.5.

and it's such a difference! i mean i could tell just by driving both at one go. so in a way that extra RM6k gives a better ride. Plus the interior although the 1.3 is a lot calmer (since it's blue) and the 1.5 is red (fierce), the dashboard looks more stylish on the 1.5.

one thing though i noticed is that the steering is light for 1.5 so the car tends to have a life of its own - control wise, although they say with the better suspension the car has better handling - also 1.5 has better fc. according to the SA but i think so too. just 'cos the car has better pick up from the get go - finally, my thoughts are laid to rest.

we test drove the 1.5 at higher speeds on a straight road although i was a bit fearful. i never felt scared in my kelisa but in the myvi, i was a little frightened. maybe 'cos the car felt like it was flying and very light... and powerful.

also, i liked the steering wheel in the 1.5 as compared to the 1.3. it's leather wrapped and is a little thicker... so better grip.

i like that i can pump the seats all the way up.

Added on December 10, 2012, 1:38 pmdo you think they'll be doing a refresh of the myvi any time soon? it came out end of 2011...

Why do you think Perodua is pushing the sales of Myvi SE and not the Extreme by not giving discount?

Added on December 10, 2012, 6:09 pmI guess adding another extra RM6k for Extreme is not worth it?
Adding extra RM6k for 1.5 is good.. But what about going extreme?

Added on December 10, 2012, 6:12 pmAlso was recommended Tint but it was really expensive. Around RM1k ... Not sure if it worth it. More for solar than security... Plus JPJ compliant would be good.

Added on December 10, 2012, 6:14 pmI am just not sure we should spend so much on tint for a myvi. Can use the money to do other things...

Added on December 10, 2012, 6:16 pmI want tint so the car is cool

Compared to SE, Extreme has more bling eg. Bodykit, tint and leather seats. Beyond that it is practically the same car as the SE.

Then get the SE and get your seats wrapped in accesories shop.

As for tint, hunt for deals on groupon, once at the shop, top up a bit to get higher end ones.

If you have sat in a tinted car, you'd find out that the perception of heat differs with everyone. smile.gif I don't feel the difference of tinting, much less in our weather and its usefulness for its price.

If you must - stick with a branded tint. Don't cheap out and get those which start peeling and cracking. It's not only the tint, but the workmanship which counts. wink.gif

Yea tint needs to be good and cooling. Gonna go with raytech. That is what SA advised. Just expensive,IMO. Lazy to go scouting. Is it good?

Where can I wrap my seats with leather, dares? Thinking colored leather.

Hi myvians, joining u guys soon, 1.5 SE  biggrin.gif

Got a few questions would like to ask all sifus,

My SA advised me to add in some safety features bcuz the car will be driven by my gf and I, which include security tint, autolock and hazard light blinking when doors unlock. Total cost will RM1600. Is this reasonable? Any members here opt for this features?

Any1 got loan from bank islam? Loan officer require us to pay RM300+ for autolife insurance, how does this insurance work? any1 knows?

Thanks  notworthy.gif

Tint? Which Brand bro?

Autolock? It has been removed due to insurance policy or something

Hazard light blinking when doors unlock? I thought every car has that?

Personally i think its not worth it. better do it outside. SA probably trying to samurai you with that kind of pricing.

Yes indeed, it depends on individuals. Even me myself that own a 1.3 LB Myvi, when SE launched, I actuallt regretted that why didnt I wait for the 1.5 to launch.

And regarding whether they gonna refresh. I don't think it would be any soon as the NEW myvi was only launched on 2011 June. Facelift / Refresh / New Model would only come out normally in 3 years time.

6k extra for the extreme is definitely not worth it. It's basically just cosmetic changes. But if u think you don't want the hassle of finding and going to those accessories shop adding the bodykits and leather. It's your choice to pay the 6k actually. But I can assure u can get cheaper price out there

Security vs solar tint for myvi. Which is more important?

How many myvis is do you think get sold a month? Gonna be a commoner soon.

If I change my lamps to LED will I void warranty?

Added on December 11, 2012, 12:58 amDo ppl put tint on the windscreen? Is it different from side windows or same?

Security vs solar tint for myvi. Which is more important? If you can afford it, get security tint.

How many myvis is do you think get sold a month? Gonna be a commoner soon. Myvi is already the most common car on our roads. You can't spend 1 second on the road without seeing one.

If I change my lamps to LED will I void warranty? If you only change the bulbs then no. Bulbs are considered wear and tear.

Added on December 11, 2012, 12:58 amDo ppl put tint on the windscreen?  Is it different from side windows or same? Front windscreen tints usually have higher VLT than the other windows.

You're the best, dares. Thanks for replying.

Yeah, I don't understand this VLT. So higher means more light coming in so it looks like normal glass, right? Do I need to tell my SA that?

I've been reading up about tint and leather seats ALL night...

Added on December 11, 2012, 1:41 amI'm clearly not very bright 'cos I've been reading up about it and not understanding this whole tint. Do you think I can get security + solar for RM1k? I just need to make sure the car is cool and front windscreen should be tinted. I just realised my kelisa's windscreen was never tinted which means I've gotten enough radiation to last me forever. No wonder I've aged tremendously.

Added on December 11, 2012, 1:48 amI just saw some unbranded tint company offering 10 year warranty on their tint that has 5 mil, almost 90% IRR but very visible at 52% for RM500! cheap... but not sure if it'll be good.

VLT means visible light transmission, that means how dark the tint is. The lower the VLT, the darker the tint. JPJ have limitations how low your VLT can go for your windscreen and the other windows.

You can get security + solar tint for less than 1k, though some might question the quality. My friend got free security tint when she got her 1.5 SE last week. Not sure what's the spec, but it's Coolworld with 12 years warranty IINM.

PM me if you'd like the SA's contact, the showroom is in Taman Segar, Cheras.

the lower the VLT - that means, percentage wise 55% is dark, 65% is lighter?
