How much is it to put leather seats into the Myvi SE 1.5?
Nothing different between SE and SE Extreme except for leather and bodykit, right?

Opinion required:-

Can't decide which is better - 1.3 vs 1.5

1.5 only 'cos it's newer and well a little more powerful. but can we tell the difference in power? is it very obvious?

i only drive in the city and rarely go outstation.

also what's the price difference between the two?

the extreme is a bit too garang.

i was thinking more 1.3 high specs (RM49,000) vs 1.5 SE (RM54,000).

I think the prices are roughly there... :/

U r right cloud9nos3...

Why would we want to go any faster....

Does the 1.3 have leather wrapped steering?
If I were to modify the seats to leather, would that void warranty?

Hi guys, I'm thinking of buying Myvi, but I'm struggling which model to go for, either 1.3 EZi Premium or 1.5 SE, is it worth the RM6000 top up to opt for the 1.5 SE instead of 1.3?

Same dilemma.

today i test drove the 1.3 and 1.5.

and it's such a difference! i mean i could tell just by driving both at one go. so in a way that extra RM6k gives a better ride. Plus the interior although the 1.3 is a lot calmer (since it's blue) and the 1.5 is red (fierce), the dashboard looks more stylish on the 1.5.

one thing though i noticed is that the steering is light for 1.5 so the car tends to have a life of its own - control wise, although they say with the better suspension the car has better handling - also 1.5 has better fc. according to the SA but i think so too. just 'cos the car has better pick up from the get go - finally, my thoughts are laid to rest.

we test drove the 1.5 at higher speeds on a straight road although i was a bit fearful. i never felt scared in my kelisa but in the myvi, i was a little frightened. maybe 'cos the car felt like it was flying and very light... and powerful.

also, i liked the steering wheel in the 1.5 as compared to the 1.3. it's leather wrapped and is a little thicker... so better grip.

i like that i can pump the seats all the way up.

Added on December 10, 2012, 1:38 pmdo you think they'll be doing a refresh of the myvi any time soon? it came out end of 2011...

I wanted to ask you, the first 3 services are free and is there warranty on parts?

Why do you think Perodua is pushing the sales of Myvi SE and not the Extreme by not giving discount?

Added on December 10, 2012, 6:09 pmI guess adding another extra RM6k for Extreme is not worth it?
Adding extra RM6k for 1.5 is good.. But what about going extreme?

Added on December 10, 2012, 6:12 pmAlso was recommended Tint but it was really expensive. Around RM1k ... Not sure if it worth it. More for solar than security... Plus JPJ compliant would be good.

Added on December 10, 2012, 6:14 pmI am just not sure we should spend so much on tint for a myvi. Can use the money to do other things...

Added on December 10, 2012, 6:16 pmI want tint so the car is cool

Yea tint needs to be good and cooling. Gonna go with raytech. That is what SA advised. Just expensive,IMO. Lazy to go scouting. Is it good?

Where can I wrap my seats with leather, dares? Thinking colored leather.

Security vs solar tint for myvi. Which is more important?

How many myvis is do you think get sold a month? Gonna be a commoner soon.

If I change my lamps to LED will I void warranty?

Added on December 11, 2012, 12:58 amDo ppl put tint on the windscreen? Is it different from side windows or same?

You're the best, dares. Thanks for replying.

Yeah, I don't understand this VLT. So higher means more light coming in so it looks like normal glass, right? Do I need to tell my SA that?

I've been reading up about tint and leather seats ALL night...

Added on December 11, 2012, 1:41 amI'm clearly not very bright 'cos I've been reading up about it and not understanding this whole tint. Do you think I can get security + solar for RM1k? I just need to make sure the car is cool and front windscreen should be tinted. I just realised my kelisa's windscreen was never tinted which means I've gotten enough radiation to last me forever. No wonder I've aged tremendously.

Added on December 11, 2012, 1:48 amI just saw some unbranded tint company offering 10 year warranty on their tint that has 5 mil, almost 90% IRR but very visible at 52% for RM500! cheap... but not sure if it'll be good.

the lower the VLT - that means, percentage wise 55% is dark, 65% is lighter?

thanks dares - do these tint people know not to put the 55% on the front windscreen? 'cos the quote I was given it didn't mention this...

Usually tint shops will say that their tint is JPJ compliant. Feel free to ask them if they have warranty against JPJ tearing down your tint (meaning if JPJ kacau and tear your tint out, they will replace FOC)

But if it's from a Perodua SA should be OK? But it's probably the SA's own contact rather than Perodua's right?

Indeed, I find the autolock really stupid. It's much safer to have it. Wasn't that why they implemented last time? To prevent sudden kidnappings or hijacks?

How many myvis have been sold to date? What's the latest chassis no.?

Added on December 11, 2012, 8:53 pmI'm still in a dilemma over tint. The groupon deals are sooo tempting.

Added on December 12, 2012, 1:13 pmsigh. I went with Raytech for RM1k. I hope it's worth it. The IRR is only 75% ... not sure if that will keep my car cool enough. :/

Impressed with raytech sales advisors. So quite confident now. Although I would love higher irr, don't see why on a myvi.

Is under car lighting legal?

It's an issue with the EPS. There are 3 stages, from high, medium and low assist, and there is a minimum time required for the EPS to change between assists which causes the lightness.

The members are petitioning to Perodua to ensure that the EPS is updated in real time, you can help us by emailing your issue to them smile.gif

I noticed this on the test drive unit. No wonder I felt like the steering wheel was losing control at high speeds. Perhaps we need to stay at constant for it to recognise or something...
