Yeah, I frequent that shop. Most of the overpriced plastic crap I have are bought from them. But whatever, given how screwed up Malaysia is with imported crap (I heard there's a compulsory 15% tax on everything imported, particulary hobbyist items), it's fine as long as you like them, I suppose... *has spent RM240+ for both 1/144 Wild Falken and Wild Wurger by Kotobukiya*

I think you're supposed to turn the white felt tip facing backwards, then push it gently on a piece of paper to draw ink, before turning it back again to draw... Then again the ink drying too fast may have been the problem of the ink content itself, so bleh. Nylon brushes are nice, I use them. I like how they would revert back to their original pointed tip whenever I use them.

I didn't mix with any thinner. And no, my brush didn't get sticky or hard when it dried up. I just washed the tip with running water after use.

I use the bottled acrylics. Canned ones are too expensive and from what I've heard, have little paint in it.
*
blardy taxes. its just toys dammit, give us a break! heh, since primary skl i liked certain toys like Beast Wars figurines, but i never got any. parents say that its too expensive for *cough* plastic crap. so all the kits im buying is from my own $$, haha if they found out im buying these nonsense they'll most likely screw me. but im wondering why are kits so damn expensive. after all they're still molded plastic right?

nay, the felt tip isnt supposed to be turned backwards! i saw the guy at xl-shop, he just pressed it down on a piece of paper and the ink naturally flowed to the tip.

tell me abt it. nylon brushes were my favourite in art class. it pwns all the other kids' brushes! theres many varieties of nylon brushes yknow, and some are really neat. but that was a long time ago. i really dont know where to buy em now sweat.gif

hey do u mix ur tamiya bottled acrylics paint with thinner? or is enamel the one that needs thinner? geez, slightly confused abt the types of paint.

I never liked those Transformer crap. They looked silly when they're in robot mode. Not to mention they have crap articulation for most of the time (legs can't spread, so they look retarded while standing).

Okay, so the markers we bought are busted >_>...

The special kind of weasel's fur used for a brush is much better than a Nylon (has the elastic properties of a nylon, only better), though it's very expensive.

I do mix the acrylics with thinners. It dries slower and allow you to give an even paintjob on a large surface. I don't know about the enamel though, never used them.
*
u sure the legs cant spread? cos i dont remember it to THAT much detail. but i liked a few of em. and MEGATRON! that guy's the ultimate transformer man. looks way cooler than the ape optimus with his Trex beast mode and Dragon evolution mode.

no la, theres nothing wrong with the batch. i think the markers were made to behave like crap.

ZOMFGWTF!!! Weasel's fur?? like I R WEASEL??!! why weasels? of all furry animal thangs?

ah thinners. so ill just follow wat u do la. ill get the bottled tamiya paint and go to the hardware shop for thinner.

Open the fingers of Red Frame's hand and make it touch Impulse's head or something. Lowe accidentally discovered that attack during one of his encounters with Gold Frame during the OMG-RED-FRAME-GOT-HIJACKED-BY-ONE-OF-THE-ASTRAY-GIRLS arc.
*
hey Question.

how come i dont see the redframe and blueframe in SEED? and Lowe and Gai..where did they come from? i dont recall seeing those fellas..but yet uncle wiki has got so many entries on em.

can some1 explain to me rclxm9.gif

oh starghazzer's post somewhere up there has got some nice pics.

anyways, im wondering why the kits in the pictures at this http://h3.dion.ne.jp looks SOOO different from those in HLJ and Dalong.net

for example, IJ:
Dalong's IJ
and..
h3's IJ

o.O notice the difference in color? Dalong's IJ has got a very pale red while h3's is the real vibrant red. and for the jetpack thing, Dalong's is Maroon while h3's is purple. And h3's IJ looks so damn good.

and another example, SF:
Dalong's SF
and..
h3's SF
err, wasnt the real SF supposed to be fat? i dont know, maybe its just me, but i really think h3's SF looks so much better. like its been hitting the gyms.

oh and i loveeee the gorgeous paintwork. FLAWLESS. omg, i cant even see stroke lines or any imperfections for that matter. notworthy.gif

silly post huh..i just thought i wanna share wat i noticed between those two. but really, shocking, aye?

I'm not sure about the Strike Freedom (h3's one says version 2 blink.gif ) but the IJ one's pretty obvious. The dalong one's a 1/144 kit while the h3 one's a 1/100 kit. tongue.gif
*
err if u noticed, almost all of his pic titles are V2.

and h3's is 1/144. go see again. besides, IJ 1/100 isnt out yet right?

I just realised the picture of the box on h3's site is a 1/100 Justice, not IJ.
*
oh yikes..

i just realised. wrong link smile.gif anyways its corrected. lol
QUOTE(infested_ysy @ Apr 25 2006, 08:56 PM)
The second guy modded his S-F (head and torso are obviously from MG Freedom, long, sharpened hip guns) to make it look superior

Paintjob's superior because he used airbrush. No stroke lines = obvious sign of usage of airbrush
*
airbrush is the way to go huh..

ah, SF and freedom's torso's are slightly different. SF has got the golden thing in the center. is it possible to cr8 that on freedom's torso without making it look obvious?

hip guns. freedom's folds twice while SF folds once only. looks like stock to me.

and the head. i cant really tell but SF has got a triangle piece on the forehead. i guess that can be modded.

but now that im scrutinising it closely....dayemd, SF n freedoms got tooo many similarities.

Crazy batshit hax Japanese people have insane amount of modelling modification skills. You do not question their superiority in customizing/modding/scratch building a part of a model kit they have.

The head's clearly from MG Freedom, he just changed the V-fins (make the peg/hole smaller/larger to fit in the new V-fins)
*
ooh..scratch building??!! shocking.gif thats some crazy shit right thurr.. yeah ure right, i looked at the page translation , and indeed, most of the parts belonged to freedom!!

ankles, head, torso and the hipguns (yes i realised SF's guns are a lil rounded at the top, and clearly thats a modded freedom's guns)

huhuhu..rroooaARRR, nice skills, i definitely need some of that.

ps: the fella did a lil stg on the freedom too. now the wing guns can turn horizontal too, instead of just coming out 90 from the pocket. or was it like that in the first place. shrug.

QUOTE(jhcj @ Apr 26 2006, 12:05 AM)
Argh this is gorgeous.
*
the Oh-something Akatsuki huh? definitely nicer jetpacks than the shiranui akatsuki. no 1/100 versions yet? aww.

QUOTE(young_soul @ Apr 26 2006, 11:07 AM)
back to this topic...did anyone notice the SF's waist weapons are completely different? dalong's SF is the original while h3's SF is longer...
*
not completely. its just a freedom's guns chopped into half. haha, like i mentioned, SF's guns are rounded.

we all know SF's waist guns are shorter than Freedom. What I'm comparing is the waist guns on h3's modified SF and the standard one that comes with BanDai.

something like this tongue.gif
user posted image
it can be seen clearly that h3's SF waist weapons are either taken from somewhere (highly improbable) or custom made
*
yeahyeah i get wat u mean. im saying that it belongs to freedom. if u look at freedom's its actually similar. like i said, just chopped in half. oh, and did u notice that it can be swivelled behind? o.O!!

Found the Aile Strike for RM239 plus-minus at Low Yat there. Other places more expensive, or don't have.

Maybe I have to hide it too <.< .

EDIT: Does the C1 only have skid landing gears? I find it weird (don't mind the colour) <.< .
*
wow..get from our fellow forummer young_soul and sorcecold. they both are importing models from japan.

i got an MG Strike for my fren too. RM150.

hurry, 3rd bulk just opened.

1. for painting, im planning to use acryllic paints and it seems i need to apply a primer first? so, how does a primer look like and how much does it cost?

2. acryllic paints, do we need to mix it with thinner?

I'm not sure whether it's necessary to put primer before you paint your kits with acryllic paint
acryllic paint can be dillute with water, no need thinner
after you've finished your kit, you can spray a clear coating on it to protect the paint from falling off
*
erm. from what i understand, primer is supposed to make the surface more "paint-able" like maybe produce a matte-like texture so the acryllic paints can stick to it. necessary or not, i dont know sweat.gif

ooh, so water is fine huh. nice. how much are those bottled Tamiya acryllic paints as featured in dannychoo.com?

and the clear coating.. is it like the Top Coat or Mr Surfacer ones? yeah, that reduces the plasticky feel a lot. and again, where can i find em, what brand and how much?

LOLs so many questions. thx whoami123 for answering my post.

and thx yall in advance.

woah.. gold frame sure roxx my sox off~! but it looks really heavy. wonder if it affects the poseability..

anyways, can we spray paint gundam kits with those paint sprays from the hardware store? cos i used the Anchor paint-lacquer spray thingy on a plastic part and it looks great. nice texture too. and not to mention, cheap! comments?

hey hey there, how bout some pics of your work?
how much does those spray cost?
applied primers? do u spray only the outer layer then only do lining?
*
its not done on a gundam kit. i was feeling really nbtd so i decided to mod my calculator. and i got this can of spray a few days ago. its one of those, u know, like sprays that they use for spraying bicycles and stuff. if u go to a hardware store, u can find it, Anchor paint spray. if not mistaken its 5 or 15 bux a can. abt half the size of ur biggest mosquito spray. really cheap.

noneed primer. the paint stays on really well. but i reccomend that a top coat be sprayed for finishing. lining erm..i suppose after spraying i guess.

Anchor spray paint can be use on Gundam kits
I've used this kind of spray on 1 of my Gundam's hand
the weakness is it's too glossy
so might need to spray a layer of flat coating on it to make it looks more natural
*
true, but its not like plasticky-glossy, its more of the metallic kind of glossy. which is good for gundams, no? makes it look like those models that are just unveiled to their pilots. reminds me of the Destiny when Shinn first took it out for a spin.

yeah the top coat would be a good idea anyways.

cheaper option huh?

I don't like the metal type of shinny
remind me of those coated robot toy that sell in pasar malam  sweat.gif

anyway, it's better to have a top-coat on it after you use those spray
heard that the paint easy to wear off compare to those modelling spray
*
nah, those pasar malam ones are different. Anchor sprays give that..erm..car paint kinda metallic (at least the grey one i have does) and i think the more u spray, the less shiny it is, in other words, more solid color. just my opinion tho.

abt wearing off, hmm now thats gonna be a problem. if i apply top coat shud be no problems already yeah? unless.. top coat wears out too doh.gif

It belonged to someone who was a member of one of the 5 royal families in ORB. He took the MS, somehow lost the right hand to the Red Frame, and then got the hand of the Blitz Gundam.

After some time he upgrade the MS with the claw thingy, but got killed. His younger sister took over the MS, whose leg was damaged when she and few others fought some mad man in space, and there comes the high heels.
*
QUOTE(Z.O.E @ Jun 11 2006, 11:12 AM)
His name is Rondo Ghina Sahaku. Save the original gold frame by blasting a hole using the Duel's bazooka. The bazooka is not meant for gold frame causing the hand to be damaged. Then, during atmospheric entry, the Gold Frame's head is damaged. Ghina just upgrade it to amatu but the energy sucking technology is not completed yet and replace the arm with Blitz's arm. Meaning Amatu have both MIRAGE COLLOID and PHASE SHIFT!!!! The head is also changed. The energy sucking still needs the "ANCHORS" to have physical contact with the target MS. Later, when Ghina died(killed by 2nd L), his sister, Mina upgrade it into Amatu Mina custom. High heels, some new upgrades and the most important upgrade:
AMATU CAN SUCK ENERGY FROM ANY NEARBY MS
*
thumbup.gif rclxms.gif thx so much, im like so 10000000x enlightened now..

so gold frame was actually like a neutral guy? since he fought blueframe and redframe...
