since samsung no release JB for s2, how you expect him to make?

ditch samsung roms, go for aosp roms.
until samsung release any JB roms, you can only rely on aosp roms.

try jellybam, paranoid android, cm10 or aokp.

i think need clean install when change rom.
kindda strange why you would switch away from cm10.

I subscribe to this fella for a long time. Very nice channel about Android stuff.

He did review one tfs launcher too. Very impressive launcher.

When you just change a rom, sure you play with it a lot. And hence feel the low battery life.

probably get a 64GB pendrive and use USB on the go.

for real photo viewing pleasure, s2 is not really a good one.
screen quite small.

if its your work, consider get a mac book air, i think the storage is 128GB.
or asus zenbook. asus transformer tab infinity. big screen really good for picture viewing.

rom manager dont support cwm backup on external SD, cant rename cwm backup.

but now i found out can use rom toolbox,
there is rename cwm backup function. happy i found out about it. yeah

i dont use the stock camera. its slow.
i use camera JB+, paid app from play store.
there is option to save to external memory.

the default camera no option to save to external memory card.
and i dont think it will ever will. because AOSP camera for nexus device which dont have memory card.
the internal memory big enough for your pics ma. if full can always transfer to sd card using file manager. not a big deal.

your gallery cant load anything, must be some .nomedia files in your phone.
one of the previous version of rom manager app has this bug.
use file manager, do a search for '.nomedia' and delete them all.

previously i heard got 2 version of cm10 right?

a mali version and a vsycn version.

i did a cwm backup and tried aokp milestone 1.
dont really like the look of the notification tray, but i can still accept it.

but the deal breaker is it dont have the feature to vibrate when the call connected or call ended.
such a sad issue.

so i restore back my backup.
praise the lord, my home button suddenly ok back. no idea why.
previously i have 50% change of it working, now back to 100%.
i testing more than 20 times and it responded everytime. confused, but happy.

by the way, titanium backup has a new feature that was added recently.
it can create a flashable zip that contains all your backup.
just flash in cwm after a new rom and bam all your apps are back.

but i dont really get whats the point though.
using cwm to flash the restore is very fast, maybe less than 5 minutes instead of the usual 15 mins.
but the time needed to create the backup zip i think maybe more than the traditional method.

i've been in this forum close to a year, having about 1k.
but feels the same only since i join first day nothing special also.

We maybe getting Samsung jellybean this month.
Add one month for malaysia delay if you duno or don't plan to flash other region firmware.

On the other hand, aosp jellybean is available in the former of cm10, aokp, paranoid android, jellybam.

It is not the same.

Cm 10 camera after you snap, then the slide away animation start. Have to wait for it finish once the view finder ready to snap next pic. .

Cam jb+ once u press shutter, the animation start. The moment the animation finish, can snap next picture.

I wouldn't say it's a super big difference, but the difference is very noticeable. You can even disable the animation completely.


Another benefit is can disable sound. Snap wit no shutter sound.

Stock one every time update nightly need go system media delete the cam sound.

Burst mode support only for models that have zero shutter lag.

i tried that rom before and it was fine.
plain bad luck i guess.

so his case maybe its screen spoil.
can boot, just that cant see anything on screen.
so its good news.

dont worry about stuck at 2.3.6,
can easy flash back JB or ICS roms.

I figure out how to use the photo sphere already.

Hold it like a ball and socket joint.
Imagine the phone is floating in mid air. Move it around but do not move its center position. Keep it in the same altitude n position.

The output is so much better than standing still and move the whole phone.

I would say the ball and socket method results in a 90% good stitching.

I'm using cm10.

Lately keep getting force close on hancent sms app.
So frustrating. Wana use the stock sms app but the smileys are ridiculously ugly green android smiley. Not only its ugly, they all look quite similar too.

Tried go sms and don't like the ui. Very cartoonist even wit a dark theme.

How to solve hancent force close?
Or how to change stock sms smileys to normal yellow round ones?

Did clear cache and fix permission but still keep getting force close.

Press menu, go settings, got option for vibrate when call connected?
