Rock solid with smooth connection. Gaming, surfing and downloading all at a time without any signs of lag. Thumbs up for DD-WRT.

QUOTE(redtiger @ Sep 19 2006, 01:38 PM) after few days of testing (v23 SP2 final), my sister tell me that RAN online game disconnect so frequently when BT... If the Power LED flashes it could mean that your connection was disconnected and it is trying to connect back.and Bitcomet will have 60 to 100% CPU usage (task manager) when using v23 SP2 final, while using my old SMOOTHWALL EXPRESS firewall does not have this problem... i also notice power LED will flash sometime, this is weird... http://dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3113&start=15 have to continue the test... |

@Mirageforce
So everything was fine before you flash your router to DD-WRT ? For torrent speed, everyone is experiencing a very low download speed and this could be a problem on the ISP side. |

@Mirageforce
So you did all the port forwarding correctly already ? Also bare in mind that alot of users have been reporting slow download speeds with torrent. This post has been edited by hardyboyz888: Sep 25 2006, 04:40 PM |

QUOTE(zhen^wei @ Sep 25 2006, 07:53 PM) i use utorrent, but quite ok mah.. the speed.. not all the times is above 50kb la.. but the speed will above 10kb -20kb.it quite ok for me. cas the streamyx line use by 8 ppl 10-20kB/s while sharing with 8 people is considered very good. Your configuration of QoS is great. Kudos to DD-WRT team. Credits have to be given to the DD-WRT team for giving us a great firmware and what's more ? It's free. |

It is under Applications & Gaming section. Just set the values at about 80% of your actual download/upload speed.

It is all under the Applications & Gaming section. For port forwarding, find out which port that the application uses and forward it to your IP. For example, Warcraft 3 B.Net uses port 6112-6119 for host to create a game. As for QoS, just set the value at about 80% of your actual download/upload speed.

QUOTE(zhen^wei @ Sep 26 2006, 12:46 AM) i no do QOS, but doing port forwarding.. the bt speed like crazy.haha This is because when you have QoS enabled, you won't achieve maximum speed. The values you set will be the speed you can obtained and the rest are reserved incase more bandwidth is required then only the reserved bandwidth will be opened up for other users. This is useful especially for people who share their connection.thanks dude... but when i do QOS, i found out it's quite slow surfing net |

QUOTE(Mirageforce @ Sep 26 2006, 04:38 PM) I've just checked bitcomet just now, why all i can see were only local. no remote. I've port forwarded it correctly. Test the port it said it was opened. Get green icon in bitcomet. wonder why there's no remote user. Is there anything i should change/tweak? Tried downloading other files from torrent ? If others remains the same condition then try using direct connection to the modem and use the dialer first. If using direct connection works, then show us how you port forward with a screenshot. By right if port forwarding is done correctly, it will work like a charm. |

Have you checked the thread on 'Can't torrent' ? Many users were reporting low speeds ranging from 0-20kB/s for BT only. |

Yes if you are going to use any P2P programs, you will have to raise it. I am using 4096 for the maximum ports while the TCP and UDP timeout I am using 120 (in seconds) at the moment.

I've uploaded that file to my own online hosted file storage. Perhaps you can try that. Click here to download.

QUOTE(bem69 @ Sep 27 2006, 07:38 PM) Thanks for that, got it working. However, I think DD-WRT disconnects more frequent than my Linksys firmware. And my utorrent is running slower. Weird. Torrent running slower ? Have you change the max number of ports under the Adminstration section in your configuration page ? Try changing that to 4096 and the TCP and UDP timeouts to 120.Anyone know how to check whether the router's faulty or not? |
