DD-WRT SP1 is really working well for me ! Been running it for 27 hours already !

Cable ? I just bought my new WRT54GS since the WRT54G was v5.

Try to avoid the serial number that is starting with CDFB. But it would be difficult as most WRT54G routers out there now is v5 unless you go for the WRT54GS.

Yeah. I've gone around searching for WRT54G that is older than v5 but can't find any of them. So in the end I just bought WRT54GS which has the serial number starting with CGN6.

Nope. v5 and above can't be flashed with 3rd party firmware. There is still WRT54GS v4 in the market. Grab it while you still can.

Have to get the JTAG cable and stuff plus v5 has low RAM and ROM which I say it's not worth the money to get it in my opinion.

I have been connected for more than 2 days now. Almost 3 days already.

If you want feedbacks, I would give 2 thumbs up for this router. I have been using this router to run my CS Server for 6 days without disconnections already. This is certainly the most rock solid router for it's price.

Have you tried using a wired LAN and see if the problem is still there ?

And when you say you lost connection meaning the wireless connection disconnect from the router and then connect back ?

If that is the case, I suppose you are using DHCP where the router will auto assign an IP for the computer and your client lease time is very short that when it reach that limit, that IP expires and the computer then has to reconnect to the router to renew the lease time. I would suggest that you use static IP if you were to let your computer on for 24/7.

DD-WRT does support v5 but you will need to use the micro version of DD-WRT and you will require a JTAG cable for flashing though.

Use the PC with wireless card and ping to the PC with wired LAN and see, if it shows back destination host unreachable then the problem is most likely that there is a firewall at the PC with wired LAN blocking incoming connections.

Yeah. I was referring to DSL's SNR Margin and not the wireless SNR Margin.

You are from Perak ? So you are saying that ADSL2MUE is rare in Perak eh ? I personally use Aztech 600E/EU and it is very good for me. Of course, different people might have different thoughts and experience with this modem.

Nope not a single problem at all before. Just press the reset button at the back of the 600E/EU and then it will be in bridge mode, connect it to the router and just put your ISP login details at the router and you're done.


Mine so far no problems. I run BT, MSN, Skype, Ragnarok Online and Maple Story at the same time without any lags.

Yes you can. Just increase the max number of ports at the IP filter settings and you are done.
