anyone know where to get the linksys wrt-54g ver.8? i'm trying to get this ver.8 but seem malaysia haven't launch yet? all the shop i looked into just got ver.7 sweat.gif i find out this ver.7 is hard to flash with dd-wrt & its tricky but the ver.8 is much more simple.

do i need to wait for the newest ver.8? or just grap the buffalo whr-g54s?

Just grab the Buffalo, IMO it performs much better than the Linksys but stock availability might run out anytime and the price will always be jacked up by the shops. sweat.gif

I suggest U buy linksys WRT54GL...Coz it robust build and proven to operate 24/7 non-stop without overheating issue.

Or best get this Asus WL-500G.(Some1 bulk it at RM170) It come with 1 USB port. U can mount a USB pendrive on it. There are also plenty of 3rd party firmware.
I just started using Asus WL-500G Premium...Manage to mount a pendrive.. Now will learn how to install and use download client.

I can vouch for this one. My WRT5GL has been running over a year on a high shelf in a non-aircon room with almost no ventilation and it is perfectly happy. It feels warm to my hand, but even after being on for months it doesn't feel as hot as those ZTE and Billion after 15 only minutes running.

I'm officially DD-WRT'ed, just had a second hand WRT54GS v1.1 with 32MB memory, work flawlessly now. Did had a glitch during few hours of operation like cannot dial in PPPoE, have to reset it and it come back nicely now. rclxms.gif
