Don't worry much about the free memory, it uses the RAM to cache for faster loading. It will automatically refresh so no worries of it running out of memory.

guys after flash it to DD-WRT - the warranty will void ? (WRT-54GL),
possible restore back the original firmware?

hi, may i know wat version of wl-500g premium u using? i search the website and there are v2. i was wondering the version in the market now... i search on the web n there are ppl that try the DD-WRt on the version 2 with no luck....

i'm using WRT54G v2.2 as well, for RC7, which one i should use? NEWD or VINT ?

Yes by right the warranty will void but then if any case you need to RMA and you are able to flash back to the original Linksys firmware, then flash it back before send back for RMA. I did RMA my WRT54G before and I just send it back with the DD-WRT firmware flashed and they still did it for me.

Yes it was a WRT54G v4 and after RMA they just gave me a v5.

My set I think is ver.1...older version.
I can flash to DD-WRT and tomato and OpenWRT....try many firmware on this set...Can flash like 10+ times a day!!
With this set, I dun worry on flashing the wrong 1 or bad flashing coz the "special way" of hard reset will clear out all memory and rdy for new flash.
It also have firmware restore software for bad incident happen...very robust design.

To fully utilize the feature of WL-500gP, I think OpenWRT or Oleg' firmware will do the job. Not too sure about DD-WRT and tamoto.
Now I manage to mount a USB thumbdrive and configure a 50mb swap partition. Dun worry abt running out of memory..

Next project will be install download manager software like transmission/enchance ctorrent...so that no need to turn on pc while download bt.

beacon : 100ms

if you got wifi card... yan can see thee difference with net stumbler. Short preamble deliver best signal for hotspot. even wirelessperak hotspot using short preamble setting

only restart will do..but can surf normally..i'm using v24rc7
