Jpaq,
If you would like to have a brand new out-of-the-box experience then be prepared for the item to be queried - this of course depends on how the item is presented / or not when your relative brings the item in?

Make your life easier by unboxing the item, dress it up in a case (get it there in the US cos the selections here in KL is still rather....... thin) and says (if asked) its a used item. Nuff said.

Others might want to offer more opinions.....

Dear successful buyers of Nexus 7 tablets who bought from NEWEGG,

Can you let us know how the process went and how painless/frustrating/fast/slow it was to order from them (who is them actually? do you liase with a person, a website or ???)?

As for the time being I am one of the 6,321 (and less) people who do not have a FACEBOOK account how do I go about in terms of payment (besides PayPal), tracking / delivery?

Thanks y'all....

Thanks for you reply. That's what I was thinking too. Screw the brand new out-of-the-box experience! LOL! Unbox it, remove all whatsoever wrappers, switch it on, log it in to a Gmail account (hell, install some apps) and say it is a used item and it is for personal usage. I already have a casing and I can just pass that to my relative to carry the unit in too! Hope that works!

Based on my experience, most of the times they won't check the content in your laptop bag. You can just tuck in the box in the laptop bag.

But the best bet is to follow your suggestion. smile.gif

But the box is really rather bulky... laptop bag also kenot fit the box. I would probably have to ask my relative to leave the box behind... cry.gif

Ask your relative to go to US Postal and have it post back to Malaysia. I believe the postage won't be that expensive for an empty box. biggrin.gif

If laptop, memang no tax. Non-3G version of tablets should fall under the same category. So no worries. But if they categorise it as a tele-communications device, then I dunno. I have no idea whether a 3G Nexus 7 would fall under that category. However, you brought in 2 handphones from Singapore as well and you showed it to them without problems? Interesting... I always thought things like handphones were taxable...

Most custom hold it n you pay rm100 for sirim permit
I travel a lot overseas n seriously most of time custom don't bother if you buy only 1-2 units electronic stuffs. Worse thing one can do is to hide such stuffs

Looked through the list of 4.2 new features.
Found that the sphere camera is the most interesting one.

So eager to try it, then it hit me. Nexus 7 no rear camera.  sad.gif

The things on my wishlist didn't appear.
-multi touch at recent app list. To remove multiple apps at a time.
-a close all button at recent apps. Like in touchwiz n paranoid android.
-toggle to make nav bar appear n dissappear.

Oh well, maybe in next update. :-)

Navigation need data. If offline no navigation.
More useful for the phone.

It has gps. Can use any gps software.
I always turn on the aes detector app when driving. So it will tell me when got aes.

Oh I see, so I can't use Google map for navigation but can use GPS software like papago right?
Thanks for your information.

The New Google Nexus 7: 32GB, HSPA+ and Even More Affordable

When we first got our hands on the Google Nexus 7 by Asus, we loved everything about it from the design all the way to everything inside of it; we were even okay with the fact that it does not come with any rear camera. The only problem I had in my review was the fact that 16GB is too small and it does not have any 3G connectivity. It was almost like a dream come true when Google decided to go ahead with the announcements planned for the day which had to be canceled due to Hurricane Sandy, and showed off to the world the 32GB Nexus 7 with HSPA+.

Along with the announcement of the storage space bump and a new connectivity option, Google also announced something rather exciting – new prices. I’m sure not everyone requires such huge storage space, if you’re still a fan of non-3G flavor of Nexus 7 and don’t mind a lower storage space, the 16GB Nexus 7 is now even more affordable at only USD$199; I hope this price change will be reflected on our local Nexus 7 as well. The 32GB version will retail at USD$249 while the 32GB and HSPA+ Nexus 7 will have a price tag of USD$299. Just a quick recall, the Apple iPad mini 32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model retails at USD$559. As expected, all Nexus 7 will be shipped with the latest Android 4.2 on board. Android 4.2 is still known as Jelly Bean by the way, but it does come with a whole host of new improvements and features.

Google also announced the Nexus 4 by LG and Nexus 10 by Samsung which you can find out more from our previous posts.
