double post cause its too quiet in here haha. U guys with bichirs, any of the upper jaw species growing faster than lower jaw species?and how big are they?my senegalus seem stuck at 10inches. So is my palmas polli. Being kept in captivity is a known factor. But just curious if any of u guys got an individual bichir that gets bigger than normal captive

Well..i frequently visit different lfs to look at what theyre selling, especially in seremban.found this lfs in lobak area which i never been to and quite surprised to find a nice variety of fish.and i saw that delhezi when it was small.aas i already has a pretty one, i couldnt get more cause im the kind of person who prefers not to have 2 of same species haha.now that it died, i remembered the lfs and was somehow relieved that it was still there.so just bought lah..

Sorry bro not sure about that. Maybe the sealent fron hardware could work, but regarding aesthetic aspect of it can i suggest u apply a black tape to cover on top of it since its quite close to bottom part?jimat mah.haha

I agree with both u and genie as there are 2 school of thoughts on this.one group of people say that it actually depends on individual pleco as not all will suck on bichirs.i myself had a pleco kept together with bichirs, caught it sucking on them few times but never continuously.it eventually grew big and fat, not from eating slime coat nor algae lol.but kept on stealing my hikari cichlid gold floating type loool.i gave it away to a friend not cause of hazard to bichirs but cause it didnt serve its function.
And then theres the other group who strictly believe not to mix them. Play safe is better i suppose.

Regarding weekly water change, i totally agree as i witness this myself.but sometimes i get a little bit busier than usual and missed it thats why i was asking for u guys' opinion or maybe experience.woot

Btw i do like the oscar, been keeping tiger oscar, albino oscar since like 2008.i got this red one when my tank was empty and it was beautiful in lfs tank (keeping in mind that i would have to let it go later).oscars are nice but for me not agressive or territorial enough.easily pushed around by a flowerhorn, and almost all cichlids i had before
