You have to buy them of course, that's easy. Lol I'm not sure if the keyboard company will send you brand new keycaps or not, but you cab always customise your new keycaps by buying them!

there's no which-is-best here actually, the final decision maker is your finger. whistling.gif
some like clicky blue, some like silent bumpy brown/clear and some like linear black/red (me).
it's better for you to try all the switches yourself 1st before making the final decision.

each of us has different switch preference.

there's no definite YES or NO or BEST for which type of switch for which purpose.. there are just recommendation which one is "suitable" for which task.

just go and try out the switches, then you'll know which suits your preference.

if you worry that key caps may wear out, then purchase a board with standard layout as it is more easier for you to buy and replace the key caps.

Black switch backlit keyboard is getting rare nowadays.

Not sure if local Ducky Shine had black switch version. If not, try import Keycool from taobao.

I can see them... but not very clear I would say,
but I doesn't like it because of the drilled part,
they will tend to keep dirt/dust in it no?
but if that happen, the text are easier visible doh.gif

Can anyone please share with me how or where to make or print white letting on a keyboard keycaps that is currently black on black like this?

My business partner who uses this thousand over RM mechanical keyboard has black lettering on black keycaps and she sometimes find it hard to find the right letters (though she is a touch typist in a way).

So again, my question is how to get the letters contrasted from the keycaps?

Thank you

Aftermart keycaps, aftermart keycaps everywhere.

BTW, let me guess, over 1k mech kb and black on black, is it Realforce/HHKB Pro?

Try visit elitekeyboard/taobao(spanthor) to see if have the desired replacement keycaps for her Topre board.
http://gamegear.taobao.com//search.htm?use...price1=&price2=
http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,toprekeys

Or if she want it on a budget (but seriously, RM1k on a keyboard, still constraint on budget?), simply get those keyboard sticker to get it done by the cheap way.

Maybe you can use liquid paper kind of liquid to paint on every keycap and then use permanent marker to write each of the letters on?

But I think you have to redo painting liquid paper and rewriting the letters every so often (a bit of a maintenance) when the letters or the liquid paper white fades.

And maybe your partner wont like the idea of using liquid paper on her 1,000+ keyboard.

No idea but just a suggestion. Peace!

None of them is the best, all are equal, depends on your preference.

Blue - Loud, mostly used for typing only, I don't like gaming with them
Brown - They are called dirty reds, because they feel like reds, but there seems to be a bit of sandy feeling in them
Red - they are nicknamed cloud of boobs, so.. yeah smooth.
Black - this is very tough, I have one of them with 62g springs, it feels like typing on plate of steels, but then they are very good for gaming.

I think any of them will take some time for you to get used to, just go into shops and try them out.

Yes! You are very good becos I think it is called like what you said Force something or realforce, but I dont know if it's topre bcos at the top left logo is some force word no topre.

But yes, then how to get these stickers you were referring to - anyone can point me to an online link or someone here selling?

@mechanicalkb -- no i dont think she will like the liquid paper thingy on this keyboard - plus it will fade off. And it will look awful wont it if we handwrite the letters on the white paint.

Anyone point me to the right link?

Thank you very much!

Realforce, it is a brand of keyboard that using the Topre Capacitive Switch,

Keyboard sticker, some rough google and you will know what it is. There are really lots available in the market, try a search in garage sale and you will know it.

But is she the perfectionist type of ppl? If so might as well prepare another RM200-300 and go for the official aftermart keycaps (but some might not like the color, and black color also only got black fonts). Take a look again at my previous post for the link.
