been using the iPhone 4 since it was launched in S'pore last 2 years. Played with friends' 4s and 5, and all other smartphones including Android, WP6,7, Symbian etc.
What I can say that I'm more inclined towards buying an Android phone later if not because of my money has already been poured into the Appstore. Sheesh. It's just the same g'damn phone with faster processor etc. Things in ios6 like Do Not Disturb etc. has long been implemented by legacy OS like WP6 and Symbian (also some feature phones). Passport? New Maps? Don't make me laugh mang. They should really invent or use something that is really beneficial. I'm sure if Apple implemented NFC for iphone5 it's going to be a huge hit worldwide. In Japan they already use for quite some time (10 years i think?) some kind of NFC to purchase things from vending machines and pay train tickets. To add in, why do people jailbreak? They downloaded SBSettings, BiteSMS, Winterboard etc. (other than piracy of course). Have u guys realized that customizing the iPhone is for the phone to be more Android-like? My point is that if is not because of OS fragmentations and lack of support from manufacturers, Android is the ideal OS (to me atleast). So just go with Android if u feel like it. Been a long long time ios user since malaysia not even selling the phone but I switched recently to note 2 for the several personal reasons below, that doesn't apply to everyone, of course:
1. The screen I hardly talk on the phone. Most of my communication are either via sms or email. And because of the nature of my work, I m constantly need to use the browser and reading books. Thats why I need to carry an ipad or macbook air together with my iphone whenever I m out. Since I m more of a 1-device guy, the Note 2 huge screen solves this problem nicely for me esp with the multiwindow feature. Instead of carrying a sling bag, now I just carry note 2 in my jeans, and the smaller width compared to note 1 really make a big different to effortlessly put it in my pocket. 2. Touchwiz I cant believe I say this, as a person who loathe os skin more than those stinking taufu sold in market, I was surprisingly impressed by the effort samsung put into Touchwiz in bringing true innovation and usability to Android. If you notice a lot of custom ROM veteran users are sticking with the stock ROM because for once it brings more real values to the end users. Big features like the real Wacom powered screen layer and stylus that make drawing impossible on iphone and ipad possible on the note 2 because of the thousand over level of touch pressures. Others includes Smart Stay that keep screen lit up when reading, Smart Rotate for reading while lying down, multiwindow, best shots photo auto selection, real camera hardware settings like ISO, smart one handed side keyboard feature and many more. Still discovering new stuffs even after using more than a month. 3. Gallery I got a 1 year old boy and I took tons of photos and videos of him and my wife like to view them always on my phone. The iphone is just too small to give that immersive viewing experience and I m not going to carry a tablet everytime, so Note 2 bright and vibrant screen really is best for this task. And now my wife is hinting me to get her a note 2 too! 4. Google apps and Jelly Bean I use a lot of google services like Google Apps for Business, Google Reader, Maps, Google Now etc. And the integration in Android is just seamless and smooth compared to iOS. Most importantly Android with Jelly Bean has reached the buttery smoothness I wanted all this while. I also like the more minimal aesthetic of the OS compared to the ugly skeumorphism in iOS or the over the top toilet sign-like simplicity in Windows Phone. 5. Battery and overall specs For once I can get a phone with max out specs with no compromises and performance is just incredible in every aspects. There must be a technology u can expand display size. I like the display big. But small to fit my pocket. My first smart phone was 3.7 inch and it keeps growing every time I change my phone. But I admit 5.5inch is too big for my pocket but i rather sacrifice that than having a smaller screen. my phone calls are getting very scarce. Phone functionality is now secondary to me. Now if they can come up with a phone with small footprint but expandable display size than I'm sold at hello.

If Iphone have 5.5" screen with Ipen stylus.Using quad core krait processor with 2gb ram, sure iphone will be big win.
But will it possible happen? May be Iphone 20. Off course 5.5 " screen very big but once you use it,you will don't like small screen already. |
